Breastfeeding has been extensively researched by various health and medical bodies and the benefits are numerous, both for the baby and the mother. According to (World Health Organization) it's recommended to continue breast feeding till at least 12 months. Let's examine some benefits of breastfeeding.

ITS ALSO A SOURCE OF GOOD NUTRITION THE BABY NEEDS

Breast milk have a very good combination of vitamins, sugars and proteins, fats needed for infancy and is also easier to digest than formula milk.

Breastfed babies have a very low risk of developing chronic diseases such as type 1 and 2 diabetes or other conditions such as Crohn's disease during their lifetime. Colds, flu, asthma and pneumonia are very rare in breastfed infants. The occurrence of "SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME" (SIDS) is sometimes or almost never experienced. Also childhood cancer and leukemia. So it's safe to say that breastfeeding is the best.

INFANT IMMUNITY

The first breast milk the mother produces is called colostrum, and it contains antibodies that protect the baby and fight off initial bacterial and viral infections.

These antibodies are transferred to the baby during breastfeeding. Some notable research has shown that breastfed babies have better antibodies, and they respond to vaccines than formula-fed infants, and generally they possess stronger immune systems.

LOW RISK OF OBESITY

The problem of childhood obesity has become a serious problem among young children as some are getting fatter and fatter. Breastfeeding ensures that the child's weight is within a healthy range. This could be attributed to the presence of the hormone leptin in milk, which controls appetite and fat retention. Overall, studies show that obesity rates are 16 to 48 percent lower in breastfed babies, depending on how long the baby is breastfed, using data from breastfed babies aged 4 to 12 months.

IMPROVED LOVE AND AFFECTION

Oxytocin secreted when breastfeeding promotes greater affection, love, trust and builds trust between the mother and baby. Also avoid mood swings and postpartum depression. So you can say that breastfeeding is a great way to build and maintain a strong connection with your child.
