Remember

Remember that everything is transitory,
both sorrow and pleasure,
calm will return to the stage
after the storm to be born again.
And of the road travelled in this life
only what one chooses to treasure or turn away from
what one chooses to treasure or to turn one's back on,
and thus chiselling out one's own history.
For on the path there will undoubtedly be
a bit of sweetness and sorrow,
moments that will sow joy and gratitude
and others that will plunge us into desolation.
But we need not fear this duality,
that mixture of light and darkness,
for they are part of this reality
that teaches us that nothing is eternity.
