13 Años después, Llegó la Despedida. | 13 Years Later, Farewell Arrived.
¡Hola Hivers! Espero estén muy bien. Hoy quiero hablarles de un momento difícil que me tocó vivir éstos dias, se trata de la despedida de mi mejor amiga rumbo a un nuevo país. Les estaré contando sobre nuestra amistad que lleva 13 años y ésta triste pero a la vez feliz despedida.
Hello Hivers! I hope you are very well. Today I want to tell you about a difficult moment that I had to live these days, it is the farewell of my best friend going to a new country. I will be telling you about our friendship that has been going on for 13 years and this sad but at the same time happy farewell.
Mi amiga se llama Rosmarly y nos conocemos aproximadamente desde el año 2009. Juntos empezamos en un nuevo colegio la etapa de bachillerato. Ahí fue donde nos conocimos. Desde el principio hicimos muy buena amistad, compartíamos mucho, además siento que éramos un complemento. Ella era una de las mejores de la clase y me ayudó mucho académicamente. Siento que desde el principio nuestra amistad fue real, nunca peleamos y siempre nos apoyabamos. Cada año la amistad se afianzaba más y llegamos al final de nuestra etapa de bachillerato con una amistad bastante consolidada. Al salir del colegio pensé que nos íbamos a distanciar y que tomariamos caminos muy diferentes, pero la vida nos tenía una sorpresa preparada.
My friend's name is Rosmarly and we have known each other since about 2009. Together we started high school at a new school. That's where we met. From the beginning we made a very good friendship, we shared a lot, and I feel that we were a complement. She was one of the best in the class and helped me a lot academically. I feel that from the beginning our friendship was real, we never fought and always supported each other. Each year the friendship grew stronger and we reached the end of our high school years with a strong friendship. When we left school I thought we were going to drift apart and take very different paths, but life had a surprise in store for us.
Al terminar el bachillerato decidí mudarme a la ciudad de Puerto La Cruz para estudiar la carrera de Odontología. Rosmarly también se mudaria a esta ciudad a estudiar Ingeniería Mecánica en la Universidad de Oriente. A pesar de que íbamos a estar en la misma ciudad sentía que no nos íbamos a poder ver con frecuencia y que cada uno haría nuevas amistades. Yo me mudé primero a Puerto la Cruz y me instale en mi apartamento. Rosmarly estaba buscando residencia dónde quedarse. Un día me escribe y me dice que ya consiguió una residencia y que pronto se va a mudar. Me emocioné y le pregunté dónde era para saber si quedaba cerca de mi apartamento. Para mí sorpresa Rosmarly había alquilado una habitación en mi urbanización y en el mismo edificio. Yo vivía en el piso 3 y ella se iba a mudar al piso 9. No lo podía creer, pero me emocioné mucho porque la tendría muy cerca.
When I finished high school I decided to move to the city of Puerto La Cruz to study dentistry. Rosmarly would also move to this city to study Mechanical Engineering at the Universidad de Oriente. Even though we were going to be in the same city, I felt that we were not going to be able to see each other frequently and that each of us would make new friends. I moved first to Puerto la Cruz and settled in my apartment. Rosmarly was looking for a place to stay. One day she wrote to me and told me that she had already found a place and that she was going to move soon. I got excited and asked her where it was to see if it was close to my apartment. To my surprise Rosmarly had rented a room in my urbanization and in the same building. I lived on the 3rd floor and she was moving to the 9th floor. I couldn't believe it, but I was very excited because I would have her very close.
De esta manera comenzaba una nueva etapa en nuestra amistad, con mucha más responsabilidad, ambos éramos independientes y teníamos metas que debíamos cumplir. Nos veíamos todos los días. Rosmarly bajaba a mi apartamento y hacíamos comida y nos contábamos lo que habíamos hecho durante el día. Para mí era un alivio tener a alguien a quien contarle mis cosas al llegar a casa, ya que vivía solo y era un poco difícil, aunque me acostumbré. Son muchísimas las anécdotas y los momentos que pasamos juntos. Íbamos mucho al cine los días lunes, pasábamos días entero hablando tonterías y siempre nos apoyabamos. Rosmarly siempre estuve presente en los buenos y malos momentos. Recuerdo un día que me enferme y tuve friebe muy alta, ella se quedó esa noche conmigo y se aseguró de que no me pasara nada malo. Son esos pequeños detalles los que cuentan y lo que me hacen valorar aun más nuestra amistad.
Thus began a new stage in our friendship, with much more responsibility, we were both independent and had goals to accomplish. We saw each other every day. Rosmarly would come down to my apartment and we would make food and tell each other what we had done during the day. For me it was a relief to have someone to tell my things to when I got home, since I lived alone and it was a bit difficult, although I got used to it. There are so many anecdotes and moments we spent together. We went to the movies a lot on Mondays, we spent days talking nonsense and we always supported each other. Rosmarly was always present in the good and bad times. I remember one day when I got sick and had a very high fever, she stayed that night with me and made sure nothing bad happened to me. It is those little details that count and that make me value our friendship even more.
A principios del año 2020 ambos retornamos a nuestra ciudad natal. Fue cuando empezó la pandemia y tuvimos que volver a nuestros hogares. A pesar de estar en la misma ciudad no nos podiamos ver por las cuarentenas y para evitar contagiarnos de la covid-19. Sin embargo hablabamos todos los días por teléfono. Cómo dato curioso quiero contarles que la mamá de Rosmarly y mi papá fueron muy amigos durante la infancia y prácticamente nosotros estábamos replicando esa amistad unas décadas más tarde. También contarles que Rosmarly siempre me hacía una torta de cumpleaños, a pesar de ser 24 de Diciembre ella siempre iba a mi casa y cantabamos cumpleaños con ella. Y como no podía ser de otra manera Rosmarly fue la que me habló de Hive y gracias a ella también estoy en esta gran plataforma.
In early 2020 we both returned to our hometown. That was when the pandemic started and we had to return to our homes. Even though we were in the same city we could not see each other because of quarantines and to avoid catching covid-19. However, we talked every day on the phone. As a curious fact I want to tell you that Rosmarly's mom and my dad were very close friends during childhood and we were practically replicating that friendship a few decades later. Also tell you that Rosmarly always made me a birthday cake, even though it was December 24th she would always come to my house and we would sing birthdays with her. And how could it be otherwise Rosmarly was the one who told me about Hive and thanks to her I am also on this great platform.
Siempre hablábamos de nuestros sueños y nuestras metas. Uno de los sueños de Rosmarly era vivir en Europa. La vida le puso una enorme oportunidad en su camino, pero ese no era su momento. Y por cosas de Dios ese viaje no se dió. Este año esa oportunidad regresó y era su momento de aprovecharla. Como dice el dicho "el tiempo de Dios es perfecto". Rosmarly se iba a vivir a Italia. Su sueño se iba a hacer realidad. Ella me hizo parte de todo el proceso y de cierta forma ese sueño también lo estaba viviendo yo. Cada paso que daba me lo contaba, desde que renovó el pasaporte, compró el pasaje y todos los trámites que tuvo que hacer. Ya tenía todo preparado, estaba a un paso de hacer su sueño una realidad. Ya tenia la fecha de salida del país así que teníamos que encontrarnos una última vez antes de irse y despedirnos.
We always talked about our dreams and our goals. One of Rosmarly's dreams was to live in Europe. Life put a huge opportunity in her path, but it wasn't her time. And as God would have it, that trip didn't happen. This year that opportunity came back and it was her time to take advantage of it. As the saying goes "God's timing is perfect". Rosmarly was going to live in Italy. Her dream was going to come true. She made me part of the whole process and in a way I was living that dream too. She told me about every step she took, from renewing her passport, buying her ticket and all the paperwork she had to do. He had everything ready, he was one step away from making his dream come true. He already had the date to leave the country so we had to meet one last time before leaving and say goodbye.
Nos reunimos y estuvimos hablando y contándonos de todo. Me explicó todo lo que había hecho y como se sentía. Compartimos todo un día recordando viejos tiempos y mirando emocionados al futuro. Fue un día emotivo y nostálgico. Además aprovechamos para tomarnos muchas fotos, las cuales estoy colocando en este post. Es difícil despedirse de alguien que ha estado tan unida a ti durante 13 años. Pero también me da mucha felidad verla partir a cumplir sus más grandes sueños. La amistad transpasa fronteras y estemos donde estemos seremos los mismos amigos de siempre. Llegó el momento de despedirnos y nos dimos un último abrazo por un largo tiempo. Durante los días siguientes Rosmarly me envió fotos de todo el proceso, de su estadía en el aeropuerto, de su escala en Estambul y de la ansiada llegada a Roma. Desde aquí solo podía orar para que todo le saliera bien. Y como Dios no abandona a sus hijos, todo salió bien.
We met and we were talking and telling each other about everything. He explained everything he had done and how he felt. We shared a whole day reminiscing about old times and excitedly looking forward to the future. It was an emotional and nostalgic day. We also took the opportunity to take a lot of pictures, which I am putting in this post. It is hard to say goodbye to someone who has been so close to you for 13 years. But it also makes me very happy to see her leave to fulfill her biggest dreams. Friendship transcends borders and wherever we are we will be the same friends as always. It was time to say goodbye and we gave each other a last hug for a long time. During the following days Rosmarly sent me photos of the whole process, of her stay at the airport, of her stopover in Istanbul and of the long awaited arrival in Rome. From here I could only pray that everything would go well for her. And as God does not abandon his children, everything went well.
Rosmarly es una persona super auténtica, genuina, buena hija y buena amiga, es un apoyo fundamental en mi vida y estuvo siempre en los momentos difíciles. Siempre estaré agradecido por todo lo que hizo por mi. Por ahora nos toca estar separados pero siempre estaremos presentes así sea por teléfono. Este post también es de gratitud hacía ella y para desearle que cumpla todas sus metas. Se que así va a ser, porque a las personas buenas le pasan cosas buenas. Se que más pronto que tarde nos reencontraremos nuevamente. ¿Será en suelo Europeo? Solo el tiempo lo dirá.
Rosmarly is a super authentic person, genuine, good daughter and good friend, she is a fundamental support in my life and was always there in difficult moments. I will always be grateful for everything she did for me. For now we have to be separated but we will always be present even by phone. This post is also of gratitude to her and to wish her to achieve all her goals. I know she will, because good things happen to good people. I know that sooner than later we will meet again, will it be on European soil? Only time will tell.

Que linda historia de vida, no tengo dudas después de leerte que a pesar del tiempo y la distancia seguirán tan unidos como siempre.
