Two Trees Caught in the Act and Hidden Codes
What in God's Name is Happening
I pass by this tree soup all the time while walking through the woods, but I decided to stop and take a closer look this time. I am trying to figure out how something like this even happens.
So there is a large palm tree growing all normal and minding its business when a crazy alien tree decides it's going to make sweet love to it. Every angle looks weirder and weirder. From this view, it looks as if the tree is a hand coming up out of the ground to grasp the trunk of the palm.
On the other side, you can see that the invader tree has completely wrapped itself around the palm and is climbing up its side quite tightly. I've never seen anything like this. I can't tell if it's in love with the palm, or is sucking out its life juices.
I wish I could see a time lapse of this actually happening, because it just looks unrealistic to me. If you were to put this in a movie, I'd just say, "Wow, that is some awful CG. It makes no sense"
But here we are, looking at it.
How long must it have taken for this to happen? Did someone plant the trees next to each other? Is there a God? I have so many unanswered questions.
As I walked around to the back of the tree, I noticed something quite out of place. Someone at some point embedded a little metal box in the base of the palm tree. I got in a bit closer and could see that it was like a little mint tin that had been screwed into the wood. What have I just uncovered?
I pulled the little lid off and found a piece of paper inside with a bunch of names, dates and other data that I didn't really understand. I decided it was best for me to not spend too much time messing with it, so I put everything back and closed the lid. Perhaps someone reading this blog has some clue as to what the hell I found. I wonder if it's some sort of scavenger hunt type game?
So I stopped to take some photos of the weird love making tree hybrid thingie, and ended up finding some top secret hidden codes. There is just no end of weirdness happening with this tree.
You might remember me including a photo of this tree in one of my previous posts, but I never actually went behind it before so this is the first time I saw the tin. It makes me wonder how long it has been there! I didn't look at all of the dates on the paper, but the ones I saw were at least a few years old. It could have been there for quite some time.
Maybe it was put there by the gnomes in my previous post?

Yes, when I was leaving, I think I saw some little fairies in the bushes giving me an evil eye. I am sure they were holding knives too!

Yeah, I think it must be on purpose because the twisty tree is the only one in the area. There are others, but they are all the way on the other side of the forest.
Looks like it was probably some kind of GeoCaching thing. Usually they wouldn't bother to damage the tree like that though by driving a screw into it. Most people who do the whole caching thing are pretty in tune with nature and don't like that kind of vandalism. Next time you go there you should add your info to the list. Think of it as old fashioned blockchain where you have a record of everyone who has visited that spot in the past!
Oh, thought I knew it was something like that but I wasn't sure. I guess on the up side, it is screwed into the base of one of the palm leaf branches which die and fall off as the tree grows. I don't know much about palm tree health though, so I could be wrong.
Ah, that is good then. It sounds like they were probably more careful about it than I initially thought. Still pretty cool!

Rick, I have not been very active for a while, so I missed this! But this is indeed the weirdest story ever! Is the secret of what is written in that box going to be revealed? Maybe if you read it out loud, like a spell, the gate to another dimension would open, and then, my friend, the real adventure begins!
Haha, I think it may forever remain a mystery. I hope it does open a portal into another dimension, as anywhere would be better than here right now! Don't feel bad, I've not been on much myself these days. Little Ricky keeps me pretty occupied.
Eventually, it will be behind you .... enjoy the stages. My 2 boys were a lot of fun. The headaches I don't remember, only the good times. Still looking after the younger one, in a way. The older one seems OK though - I am connected to them both on social media. One never stops being a dad.
Yeah, I have been thinking about how I will be essentially raising him for the rest of my young life. Haha! I will be I will be 65 when he's 20.
