Bags are us
I am still working with this clay I bought here in the Philippines. To be honest,it was pretty challenging as I do not know how it will react to various techniques I had been doing.I tried using my cookie cutter before this,Failed.I tried making a simple calico cat-failed-the clay was too soft and apparently, the time it takes for it to cure and for me to add some more details is unknown presently. It resulted with a deformed head.
I thought of making simple things as bags so here I am.
I started by mlusing my cookie cutter ti make these circles. It took forever since the clay is either clinging to the cutter or sticking on my work area.
I added the details with the knife to create the stitch effect.
I rolled out a flat piece of clay to create the body of the bag.
This is how it looks like when done.I used a small scissor to cut through the clay.
Side view look....
This is how I started making the zipper.I cut a piece of clay.
Then used the cutter tool to create the effect.I did not initially do the zipper detail because I am concerned that it might get smooshed in when I attach the pieces together.
This is how I created the straps.
And the details I made.
I decided to create some simple designs.I got some orange clay pieces and placed them strategically by the sides to complete the look.
Done. This is the finished product.I did attempt making a handbag which you must have noticed at the top.
That was the first bag I created from this batch.
Final looks.I have not yet done anything else. These are made from airdry clay and I wanted to wait a bit for the pieces to dry up before incorporating anything else.
You're really mastering the clay thing. Nice hand bag
Thank you very much!I paln to incorporate this in my upcoming crafts.
