The Angels of Death

The theory of how people may be forced to breed for the health of the larger population is known as Eugenics. Eugenics had been a very popular movement in such countries as the US, England, Japan, Scandinavia and other parts of Europe in the early part of the last century.

There were family members of mine who lived in that time. Uncles, Aunts, Parents and Grandparents. It is not that ancient of a history. It is within living memory of some of the elders of our population.

There were laws in Virginia, in the 1930's, that sanctioned sterilization of people, under certain circumstances, without their consent. The Nazis based their 1933 sterilization law after that US law. Of course they went on to take it to new heights, yet my point is they simply built upon a principle.

When Eugenics was in full swing in Germany, in the early 30's, much of the killings of the mentally handicapped and crippled children were done by nurses on the orders of Doctors. One wonders how a modern civilization with one of the best medical professions in the world, at that time, could slowly go down such a dark path.

With mercy killing now legal in many western nations, including my own, there may be no better time to consider such a question.

The following video explores these matters; tracing the baby steps that the German medical profession took from simple mercy killings to eventually ending up with such monsters as The Angel of Death, Dr. Josef Mengele.

In these times of authoritative measures over health concerns, it may do well to have a look back at what history might teach us about these matters.

Without further adieu allow me to present...

CARING CORRUPTED - The Killing Nurses of The Third Reich

Science, specifically of the medical nature, has been the cornerstone of so many atrocities throughout the ages, mostly in the name of the greater good. I recently read a book about Japan's Unit 731 and the various human experimentation they were involved in. It was absolutely shocking.

Thanks for the book suggestion and your feedback, Papa. The mini-documentary about the German nurses touched me deeply. Perhaps it had something to do with my mother being a nurse during those times, though thankfully tending to allied naval personel and not killing children. The present day wedge issue which covid has become seemed to give some relevance to the documentary as well. It's a bit chilling, up here in the great white north, to have our prime minister speaking in an incredibly derogatory manner about we that resist the Needlecraft; without the needed papers to get on a plane or train to be able to tell him to kiss my unjabbed arse goodbye. Chilling times indeed.

Hey man long time! Sorry this has nothing to do with your post but I have been trying to find you. Been doing a lot of archeological digging on devcoin and thus trollkeep and TKC BBS. Found some awesome stuff on the history of your days where you and our @knotwork (MarkM) had BBS game on the C86Net "Citadel"!!! fitting name! :) I was able to use google lens on your first web archive snapshot for trollkeep and found the DOS/Amiga game release Jan 2, 1986 that matched it (even has Youtube clips of gameplay!) and I was blown away how advanced the graphics were for that day in age. You guys are patriarchs of the metaverse. The pre-WWW and true internet and Net surfers :) I wish you'd come back we need all hands on deck to tie this gordian knot together bc our history is undeniably the solution. Blockchain is just a critical part of it! I will read your posts here bc I missed seeing you around the Devcoin Project. Also those wenches from Defender of the Crown were quite ... developed. You guys are legends. To me its like you invented digital maps and thus land... you deserve your place in history! https://www.gog.com/game/defender_of_the_crown

You are a researcher of the first order!

Will try to get round to see how DVC is doing. Is bitcointalk.org still the best place to connect? Hope the unexpected downing of trollkeep.com was not a hassle loosing the forum set up there. The server company changed hands and trashed my autopayment from paypal and then notified me on an out of date email address. The kids these days. 😎

Yes bitcointalk is the best place to reach the older mainstays but if you join telegram our channel t.me/devcoins is where lead dev @develCuy is most reachable! :) I am so happy to hear from you I was wondering what happened to trollkeep!!! I miss the forum - but that's because it had great ideas on it and history throughout. I can only live off the Wayback Machine and Internet Archive for public forums ;) -- I think the long game is the best game. For some reason I believe the blockchain and "Devcoins" were a long time coming for economics that began with BBS and evolved in Web markets like people buying game currency to save them the TIME to buy things they wanted to develop in the Second Life... ;) Here's a good article of how we ended up with VirWoX... can only imagine what you pre-web BBS folk have cooking up but until then I do what I can to keep the project info out there even if I sound like a nut! https://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/29/business/yourmoney/the-game-is-virtual-the-profit-is-real.html

If you wanna read my theory on knots - specifically gordian knots the solution to unsolvable situations -- well I think we're getting there! maybe all the way back to citadels in Canada :) sorry for blog jacking you. There's no DM here I'm aware of!

sorry for blog jacking you

No blog jacking taken. Nice to chat.

There is a backup of trollkeep. My plan is to install it on my home server using noip or some such service. Got sidetracked after setting up a Lightning Node, which is still not staked, by a tablet addiction acquired from my daughter and son-in-common-law for xmass.

Will make an effort to check out the backup of trollkeep, soon, and register on telegram. There is also a huge text file in the backup which contains the contents of the 'TKC" ROOM from the Citadel BBS which may give you a giggle, circa 1987.

TTFN!

In response to your post. Eugenics was sadly a think in the pre-WW2 post-WW1 United States -- Specifically California! PBS Documentaries on Amazon Prime had a documentary I watched last year should be easy to find. I couldn't watch it all it made me sick to see how they treated disabled children. The Nazi's took it to another level. Which is why I'm glad my grandfather killed many and came home so I was able to spend half my life knowing him. <3

It has been rather chilling watching the authoritarian measures taken by my government over the last couple of years. Even Franco's Spain did not disturb me as much and he was a personal bud of Adolf.

It was all a bit theoretical for me, being semi-retired, and not so easy to coerce me into the taking of the Needlecraft. The mini-documentary seemed to demonstrate how ideas, surrounding public health and well being, can be taken to the point of barking mad.
