Shadows Over the Villa || AC Origins

After scouting the villa with Senu, the infiltration began with a silent rooftop attempt that quickly went wrong. Alerted guards turned the approach into a chaotic lookout, forcing a tactical retreat into the streets.

After Shadya pointed out the villa, she headed back to safety, and I leaped from the rooftop to begin my approach. Before making a move, I called upon Senu to circle the estate.

From high above, I marked the guards and mapped out their patrol routes as I needed to know exactly what I was walking into before I set foot inside the perimeter.

I spotted my first target guarding a section of the villa's roof and moved in for a silent assassination. However, things didn't go as planned. He was a trained soldier, and my blade didn't finish him off.

He managed to alert the others and scrambled back to join a group of archers, who immediately began raining arrows down on my position.

I held my ground for a moment, keeping my shield raised to deflect the incoming fire. But the guards were tactical; someone threw a smoke bomb right at my feet, choking the air and blinding me.

Through the grey haze, one of the soldiers rushed in to press the advantage, forcing me into a frantic melee. Realizing I was being overwhelmed, I made the call to retreat. I jumped from the balcony and sprinted away from the villa to reset the encounter.

I expected them to return to their posts once I left the immediate area, but these guards were relentless, they abandoned the villa and began hunting me through the nearby streets.

The pursuit finally split them up. I noticed one soldier had wandered off on his own, so I circled back to ambush him. Even though he was isolated, he proved to be a tough opponent, parrying my strikes and forcing me into a duel that risked drawing the others back to us.

I decided to use the environment to my advantage. I broke line of sight and slipped into a patch of tall grass, waiting for him to lose my trail. He came searching for me. When he stepped close enough, I came out from the shadows and finally took him down.

The noise must have picked the curiosity of another guard, because he came investigating the perimeter shortly after. I stayed low and waited for the right opening.

This soldier was much weaker than the previous one; once I had the right angle, I moved in and dispatched him quickly, finally thinning the herd.

I'll show more of my photographic journey of the games soon, so stay tuned to my blog if you liked them.

The screenshots are taken by me personally from my gameplay and I borrowed the game's logo from DevianArt.
