A War Elephant || AC Origins

Riding out to a golden icon in the desert, I discovered a war elephant arena. Stepping inside, I was quickly trampled and shot down by riders. Respawning outside at dawn, I found a letter on a dead explorer, while Senu rested on my arm.

Riding my horse out into the desert toward a golden question mark on my map, I eventually stumbled upon a remote location named the Hideout of Qetesh and Resheph.

Thinking it was just a standard bandit camp, I hopped off my mount and scrambled up a nearby hill to scout out the perimeter. Looking down into the camp, I was surprised to find a massive, heavily armored war elephant pacing around a giant arena.

Sending Senu up to get a closer look from the air, I spotted multiple armed riders sitting on the beast's back. The target had a massive health bar, but I decided to test its defenses by firing an arrow from my vantage point outside the walls.

When my arrow bounced off without dealing any damage, I realized I had no choice but to step inside the camp to engage. The moment I crossed the threshold into the main arena, the heavy wooden doors swung shut behind me, trapping me inside.

The giant war elephant immediately locked eyes on me and charged across the sand at full speed. I managed to dive out of the way just in time, instantly abandoning any thoughts of winning the fight.

I sprinted along the wooden boundary walls searching for high ground to climb, but the pit was completely flat with nowhere to hide.

As I ran for my life, the archers mounted on the elephant's back opened fire with heavy bows, pinning me down in the open dirt and taking me out in seconds.

Respawning outside the arena entrance, the bright morning sun was already rising over the sand. Having no desire to step back into the ring with that monster, I looked around the outside gate and spotted a corpse slumped against the rock face.

Approaching the body, I found a letter belonging to an explorer named Fenux, who had written about solving the mystery of the "Demon of the White Desert Oasis."

In his notes, he wrote that the legendary demon was nothing more than a giant war elephant, mocking the local tales before planning a trip to display his findings at the Great Library of Alexandria.

Sadly, it looked like he was killed right outside the gates before he could share his story.

As I finished reading the letter, Senu quietly glided down from the sky and landed on my forearm, letting us take in the quiet desert morning together.
