Rising Star - Be Careful!

I have been playing Rising Star for a long time, I think from right about when it started. As a matter of fact, I reached out to Jux in the beginning and did some sound work for him on the fades of his intro. He was nice and said thank you, however, recently, I have had an issue with a part of the game, and that is why I am writing this post...

Active Player...

Over the years I have developed quite a large collection of Rising Star NFTs, and played the game as much as I could. I never cheated and got my wife involved with the game as well on her own account. Apparently, because we both use the same internet connection, this is a violation of the game rules. This was never a problem until my wife was attacked by a dog and was incapacitated and I added her account to my keychain so I could play her account for her...

Rules Man... Rules...

As you can see from the screen shot below, the rules are clear that you can only have one address per "physical location," this means there can only be one Hive user per household that plays Rising Star...

Ummmm... A Problem...

I might be wrong here, but to me, any game developed should be a way to help grow Hive, not just get the game developers rich. In my opinion, this rule in Rising Star does not help grow Hive at all. For example, what if someone gets involved with Rising Star, and decides they do not like it, but then their kids decide to get involved? Well, they can't. That is right, only one account per location...

A Little Bit Rude...

When I saw that both my wife's and my accounts were banned, I reached out to Jux in the Discord and explained what had happened. To be honest, he was rude to me and blocked me after curtly telling me no, he would not reinstate my account. Not only that, he decided to not let me withdraw my in game assets either. He did not lock my NFTs, however maybe he did not have a way to do so, the way he acted I am sure he would have if he could have. Refusing to let me withdraw my in game assets amounts to theft in my opinion.

Dog Attack...

As you can see from the picture below, my wife was unable to play the game due to being mauled by a dog, however, since apparently you are only allowed one Hive account per household to play this game, it did not matter anyway...

Growing Hive, Or Growing Pockets?

In my opinion, the "rule" to only allow one Hive account per household to play this game is ridiculous, and does not do anything to grow Hive at all. On top of that, the way I was treated was not only rude, but wrong in my opinion. Jux could have easily said, "Merge the account and never let it happen again," in other words he could have been understanding, and compassionate. It is not as though I had multiple violations, and I apologized and explained as soon as I realized there was a problem. Nope. Banned. Assets seized...

If I wanted to play a game like that, I would visit the local IRS office...

I feel sorry for what happened, and like the rest of the people in the comments, I can say that "decentralization" worked very poorly here. What puzzles me is the whole fact of the detection that you were playing on your wife's account, after all, there are often situations where several computers can share the same Internet IP, let's hope that somehow it will all work out!

I was more upset that I explained the situation and apologized and was still just treated like a criminal or something...
