Something Different...

This morning I decided to do something different. Instead of waiting until later in the day to make a post, I decided to wake up a little earlier than normal, and do a morning post instead. As I sit here and drink my morning coffee, I am thinking over my plans for the day, what do I need to get done, and how can I do it better than yesterday. Soon, I will be getting ready for work, trading my time for little bits of paper, a necessary evil for now, but also a step to getting where I want to be.

Peace and Quiet...

I have the news on, my dogs are on the couch, and soon I will wake my wife up to start her day. I often wonder if she realizes how much of my life focuses on giving her the life she wants. Our plans are to get some land and homestead it. That is the goal and what I am working for. I have made the decision to make a daily move to get there, and sometimes that means getting up just a little bit earlier than normal, but honestly, I am enjoying this time alone to think...

Things To Do...

Recently, we had a leak in our upstairs bathroom, which is resulting in a major remodel job in our home. Thankfully, I am able to do the work so all it will cost us is materials. It will raise the equity in our home, and with a few other small improvements, we should be able to sell at a decent profit when it is time to move. Before that, I am working on paying down our debts, and obtaining things we will need when we start our homestead journey. Likely, we will be living in a camper for a while until we can build up our property, unless of course we can find another home that we can rehabilitate. This makes it hard to plan some things...

Some Things Can Be Planned...

There are other things I can plan for. We will need power, which means solar panels, and maybe a wind turbine. Tools will always be needed, and I have been looking into buying a portable sawmill and wood splitter. Even before we move, I can use those tools to make money on the side. We have chickens and honey bees already, and I have been thinking about building chicken coops as another "side hustle." If you have seen the prices of them lately, you would understand why!

So I Ask You...

I know, this post is not the most entertaining, or informative, I am really writing this more for myself than for anyone else, but I do ask a good question. What are you going to do today to make your life different? It does not have to be anything huge, but anything at all is better than nothing...
