Abuse of Trust

Peter is a wealthy business man, handsome, kind and generous. He could travel different parts of the country for his bussiness transactions and on one of his bussiness trips, he met Sandra and liked her. Sandra too is a beautiful girl still on her early 20's. Sandra's mom is Peter's customer, peter could give her reasonable amount of goods on credit while she redeem after selling. They already established a good relationship and they are okay with that. So one day, Sandra came to see her mom and that's how Peter got to see her and liked her. He approached her and made his intentions known to her and she accepted to begin a relationship with him.

Peter on the other hand informed Sandra's mom about their new relationship, however Sandra's mom liked peter only that she pleaded for his support for her daughter to gain admission and study her desired course before having any serious relationship with her. Peter is also a graduate though he choosed bussiness after series of job hunt and God blessed him with the bussiness and he is doing very well. Peter knowing the value of education accepted Sandra's mom request and bought JAMB form for Sandra immediately.

Sandra on receiving the JAMB form became so much excited at least she have gotten an opportunity to further her studies in the university. She finished her secondary school before then and had to stay at home for two years assisting her mom because there was no one to train her in the university since she lost her Dad.

Getting admission is one of the best thing that will happen to me right now; Sandra said silently in her heart and so she was burning her midnight candle daily inorder to pass her exams. The exam came and she did well and was given admission to study Optometry in the university. That has been her dream course since her secondary school level and she is so much happy to see her dream come to fulfilment.

Peter on hearing the news of Sandra's admission couldn't hold his joy and so he paid every penny for her registration into the university. He also did lots of shopping for her and credited her account incase of any other expenses in school. He went further and tell her not to hesitate to call incase if she needs anything. Sandra thanked peter so much and bid him fare well.

Throughout Sandra's stay in school, Peter supplied all her needs, she lived so comfortable while in school. She never lacked anything nor had any delay in payment of school fees, courtesy of peter. Fast forward to the day she graduated as an optomologist, peter ensured she had a colorful day and they were all happy and celebrated with her including her mom.

The time was ripe for peter to take their relationship to another level (marriage), and so Sandra was visiting Peter's house continuously so they can have adequate plans for their marriage. On each Sandra's visit, Peter could notice that his money normally get missing but he trusted Sandra so much to suspect her. The incidence kept repeating itself on several occasions meanwhile there was no third party to suspect. Peter trusted Sandra so much and often give her enough money and everything she mention and this made it difficult for him to think otherwise. Not withstanding, he decided to set a trap for her just to get a confirmation of so many thoughts going on in his mind. He then placed a huge amount of money besides his Tv stand and left to pick up a parcel from a dispatch rider, he came back later and not too long, Sandra requested that she take her leave, Peter stylishly checked for the money but it was no where to be found. He asked Sandra repeatedly but she denied being responsible for the stolen money. Peter then decided to check her hand bag and behold the money was chilling there! He felt so disappointed on her, he trusted her and provided every single thing she needed so why stealing from him again when she can just make a request and get it immediately. Sandra on the other hand cried and apologized to peter promising not to steal from him again however she accepted to be responsible for all the stolen money so far from Peter's house. Peter looked at her and decided to forgive her due to the love he had on her but then he postponed their wedding plans till further notice just to take a closer look at Sandra's new found attitude and see if she will genuinely Change.

After three months , Sandra resumed her stealing from Peter again just when peter thought she has changed, the stealing repeated three more times and at this point, peter decided to quit the relationship. His fears was about their future if she continues that way, she could squander his bussiness money and secondly she could transfer her stealing nature to his unborn children and he wouldn't want any of these to happen to him. Sandra cried and cried over the break up but it was too late for her, she abused the trust her fiancee had on her.

Peter later found another wife and was blessed with three children after six blissful years of leaving together. Sandra was in her late 30s and still single and at same time still living in regrets!

She wished her ugly act never happened, she wished she could ever have her fiancee back, she wished for different things but it was unfortunate and too late for her.

Lesson of the story: No human being is perfect, we all have our differences/weakness but the ability to discover your own weakness and make every effort to deal with it is what matters to avoid living in regret or loosing what you most cherished.
