Introduction 😊

Well Hello I'm Ninjakitten ☺️ I can't wait to share all of my adventures with you all and also follow some of yours.. here's a bit about me,. From a child sat on my dad's shoulders I've been exploring abandoned buildings, bottle digging, mudlarking and metal detecting .. and never stopped.. Welcome to my world..

The research to find them, the journey to them, how to find a way into them, the wonder of what's inside, the history, the natural beauty of nature reclaiming what was once hers.. I stand in awe at times and try to imagine how, when and why was such a beautiful place now forgotten.

peoples lives strewn across the floors.. machinery rusted and broken.. walls and floors fallen around me..

I also go bottle digging.. years ago household waste was thrown out with the coals of the fire or into rivers woods and quarrys.. in a nutshell, I hunt down those areas and dig it all back up 😁 yes I know.. I'm not quite right πŸ˜€

I also metal detect.. Hearing that "beep" and not knowing what mystery the soil will offer me, from roman coins, little lead toys and lots of ring pulls πŸ˜‚
I love the anticipation.

In the late 18th and 19th century, usually children scavenged the river banks for items of value lost or dropped by passing boats or people, they were called Mudlarks. The is nothing more fascinating and mucky than traipsing the foreshores finding old clay pipes, Coins, and bits and bobs washed up.

So basically I'm at my happiest when I'm filthy dirty and being places I shouldn't be ☺️ All of the above tie in with my passion for photography and my love of the outdoors, My dad always said curiosity is a good thing, and I have loads of it πŸ˜‚ Ide like to say thankyou to @slobberchops and @grindle for opening up this whole new world to me πŸ™ and if just one person enjoys my adventures then I'm a happy girl..

Well then, consider yourself happy because I have definitely been enjoying your adventures so far, @ninjakitten!

I know I already gave you a bunch of information in my LS comment & I don't want to overwhelm you with more (especially knowing you have @grindle and @slobberchops to guide you), so I'll hold off on community recommendations for the moment until you find your footing a bit more. But please feel free to shout out if you have any questions!

(lol..."if"... I've been here for a wicked long time, and I still have questions πŸ˜‚)

in urban exploring many years ago everyone went by false made up names a way to sort of keep your anonymity as it used to be a quite closed world. Over the years it's all changed drastically as everything does and along with the changes went your user name.. I was actually named by another explorer.. kitten for quite quiet and scatty and ninja for climbing and squeezing into small spaces 🐒😺 😊

That's cool you were named by a fellow explorer. I suppose he/she saw indeed these features in you :)
And it is really a great name you got 😎

I actually really liked it.. although I at times resemble a hippo than a kitten when I get massively excited about a place and start doing the chicken without a head thing πŸ”πŸ˜‚

It appears you have made quite the entrance. After being up since 5.30am I am a bit knackered but we can catch up later. I need a snooze..

Did you rip off that guard with your bare hands? πŸ˜€

that was one big old fencing like spears! πŸ˜‚ notice the piece of carpet to protect my delicate fingers, and from obviously slicing my body in half πŸ˜‚

Get some gloves, it only took me 2 years before figuring out that I could climb 100% better with them on!

Welcome to Hive NinjaKitten, I was excited when I read that you were coming onboard through @slobberchops and I already am quite fascinated with your treasure hunting. I only recently learned about the bottle digging in old pits and find it really quite amazing. Always wanted to go metal detecting, it must be so exhilarating to dig up something that has history that you find.

As for UrBex, I'm quite fond of reading the stories on here, it's always crazy what you guys find and I really look forward to your stories too.

I am sure that you will love sharing here, the community is really awesome and if you post with personality (like you have above), I expect you will go far.

Have a blast here, looking forward to chatting with you in the future.

Mudlarking. Yesterday was the first time I have ever heard the term, it was mentioned on a true crime podcast, and here I see a person who does mudlarking, how fun! Really looking forward to your interesting dirty explorations, welcome to the platform! :)
