Exploring The Abandoned Toy Train Shed...

I've passed this little shed attached to a crumbling old house for about 15 years.. one day I don't know why but I decided to have a little look to see if anything was in the sheds,. and boy was I surprised!

It was like ide stepped into a toy shop that sold trains.. but this was obviously once someone's pride and joy, their little hideaway, I can only imagine how many hours of enjoyment this bought to somebody.

The track ran through out the whole shed running through tunnels and over bridges.. a little farm yard and football stadium were settled in the dust and carriages and little wooden blocks with references to various stations dotted here and there..

The cobwebs were incredible hanging from the rafters reaching from one side of the shed to the other.. posters of trains on the wall and tiny houses sat on the shelves ready to be placed oneday around the track..

Balanced on the side was a train drivers cap.. moth eaten and covered in dust.. I noticed another door and gently pushed it open to reveal a small room with racking, off cuts of wood and a cosy chair.. maybe that's where he sat and pondered as to what he could build next..

Time for me to go.. I couldn't believe that for all those years I passed the small shed it was hiding such a wonderful explore... Thankyou for reading this and I hope you enjoy my adventures 😊

Had to be Hornby. My train set was Fleishmans, a bad idea by my father. Everyone else used Hornby.., he had to be different 😒

my dad was different... all the other little girls went to toy shops and ballet.. I went to derelict houses and run down factories 😂

Such a shame, it's crying out to be restored. It's such a mix of ages; I think the oldest would be the Tri-ang train and farm cart.

That's a great and creative way of exploration 😁. Never thought we can do it that way hehe

That looks like a real gem of a find.

I'm not into railways personally, I prefer online worlds where you turn the computer off and there's no clutter left hanging around.

But that looks like someone has put a lot of love and time into that shed and its contents.

There are simply no words, a great place...

As a child, I dreamed of a railway, but the dream did not come true...
