Today's 3 Coins episode needs very little introduction as this game is SO iconic.
FROGGER (1981)
With only 3 Coins (or credits), how far into the game can I get?
5 Frogs need to arrive safely at the top of the screen to pass each stage.
You will need to DODGE CARS, surf LILLYPADS and LOGS, and watch out for sinking pads and EVEN a crocodile :o
This game is SO SIMPLE, that every time one of your frogs gets squashed it is ALWAYS because you went too fast or lost your patience. And like most old games this is just a HIGH SCORE BATTLE, with no continues.
Last episode on Bubble Bobble went VERY WELL, I actually got quite far!
SO I went into Frogger with my confidence high! BIG MISTAKE!

I have this crazy arcade stick with mad games built into it (it's a Pandora's box 5) and it is soooo much fun! I am going to play a different game each episode with only a 3 coin/credit limit.
I love playing old games but my skills are rusty, so join me as I relive my youth and try to claw back some of my arcade finesse in my 'lets play' series 3 Coins.

I think these early games had a cross style joystick that would only go up or down, like this +
Sometimes I was trying to move sideways and the 8 way joystick this arcade thing has was sometimes a pressing forward slightly, thus squashing or drowning my frog...
Hold on, how did I miss the fact that water kills you in this game!?! HAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!

But yeah a nice short snappy episode is more digestable I think!
I do wanna complete a whole game on an episode one of these days!
Which would be a miracle, unless I pick one game to try to get good at first.
I did attempt another style a little like that a while ago called "Level 1 Speed Run", trying to get the quickest time on the first stage with highlights from a bunch of attempts.....
Got bored too quickly though as I like mixing the games up too much.
2 episodes left to film for season 3 (to make 10 episodes) and a special bonus episode "behind the scenes" coming shortly after!
