Splinterlands: Darth Squirrel NFT
I learned in College that word if mouth is the best type of marketing and these creators are the marketers currently delivering the excitement about the game, the community, and the economy. One of the key content creators has been @BullDog1205 as he often has streams with hundreds of users or videos with thousands of views. His journey has lead him to be a part of the team as Community Manager which had been great as those that play and collect are the best to attract and retain players over time.
His influence is often felt as he has the attention of the community when he shares strategies. Cards often rise and fall in price given his thoughts on utility and strategy! It is very engaging to be part of the community with him there. Now, he is taking this an additional step as he is looking for ways to engage his audience even more. The launch of his NFT Collection has been an interesting project for a number of reasons. While not on the HIVE blockchain due to it not being ready yet, he has worked well with setting up on Polygon Network which is also well respected layer 2 platform for NFTs.
It has got off to a good start as his followers are among the most engaged on stream. As soon as I read about his project, I was even willing to buy one as I have been trying to tip toe into the generative art NFT experience. However, they are not for sell and are only distributed by him as giveaways on his streams. He even provides the MATIC needed to mint! I was lucky enough to win number four in his first week. I realize that the minting process is as exciting as opening Splinterlands packs!
While there is no in-game utility nor will there ever be, I think of this as a ticket to a robust community with influence in my favorite ecosystem. He is even providing out of game utility by providing sponsorship discounts to holders of the NFTs and even provide referral fees to those who bring sponsors as well! Interesting concept to say the least! Just being a part of it gets me interested in the possibilities for the ecosystem in general. Just another reason to be encouraged about Splinterlands!
