Dorothy - Illustration made in the traditional way [Es/En]

Continuamos creando personajes curiosos, esta vez fue el turno de Dorothy,este personaje me recuerda mucho a una amiga que tuve en la universidad, ella era poseedora de cada expresión en el rostro y tenía grandes ojos intensos, su carisma era algo increíble, cuando llegaba ella era evidente. Hace bastante tiempo que no la veo, es posible que haya emigrado, si no de seguro le regalaba la ilustración, es curiosa la manera en que la recordé, cuando leía algo sobre las personas que son un meme andante, bueno, Dorothy es una de las personas, lol.

We continue creating curious characters, this time it was the turn of Dorothy, this character reminds me a lot of a friend I had in college, she had every expression on her face and had big intense eyes, her charisma was something incredible, when she arrived it was evident. It's been quite a while since I've seen her, it's possible that she has emigrated, if not I would surely give her the illustration, it's funny the way I remembered her, when I was reading something about people who are a walking meme, well, Dorothy is one of the people, lol.

Es divertido crear este tipo de personajes que representan algo para mí, una vivencia o personas que se cruzaron conmigo porque lo hacen más especiales, al verlos sacan una sonrisa en mi y traen recuerdos agradables. Dorothy la creé haciendo principalmente con un boceto, explorando expresiones y captando su mirada, además de su cabello el cual al igual que muchos posee un estilo puzzle, terminado esto hice un delineado para luego explorar con los tonos de color, aquí escogí mis colores favoritos, azul y fucsia. Algo que quería resaltar es que luego de la aplicación de color lo sellé con el color blanco, algo que le da una textura diferente al dibujo y me agrada muchísimo.

It's fun to create this kind of characters that represent something for me, an experience or people that crossed my path because they make them more special, when I see them they make me smile and bring back pleasant memories. Dorothy I created her mainly with a sketch, exploring expressions and capturing her look, as well as her hair which like many others has a puzzle style, finished this I made an outline to then explore with the color tones, here I chose my favorite colors, blue and fuchsia. Something I wanted to highlight is that after the application of color I sealed it with white, something that gives a different texture to the drawing and I like it very much.

Luego que fui sellando continúe agregando algunas capas para darle sombras en algunas zonas. También presté mucha atención a sus ojos, quería que fuesen intensos y grandes. Finalizado todo el tema de los colores, paso al delineado final, aquí me costó un poco debido a las capas de color ¿Por qué? bueno la razón es que la superficie de colores no permitía que la tinta se adhiriera, me costó diversos intentos para lograrlo, algo que no me gusta mucho por la sencilla razón que el trazo puede quedar grotesco si no tengo cuidado.

After I was sealing I continued adding some layers to give her shadows in some areas. I also paid a lot of attention to her eyes, I wanted them to be intense and big. Once all the colors were done, I moved on to the final outline, here it took me a while because of the layers of color. Why? Well, the reason is that the colored surface did not allow the ink to adhere, it took me several attempts to achieve it, something I do not like very much for the simple reason that the line can be grotesque if I am not careful.

Creo que tengo días teniendo algunas dificultades para dibujar, quizás porque estoy sobrecargada de muchas cosas incluyendo ideas, las cuales debo organizar, porque si no termino arruinando muchas cosas que estoy creando, pero me alegro mucho haber logrado crear a Dorothy sin duda capturé lo que deseaban y se une a una serie de personajes originales inspirados en algunas personas que he conocido. Para esta ilustración utilicé colores de madera prismacolor premier y me encantó la textura, son super blandos y fáciles de mezclar, creo que es lo que más me gustó además de la intensidad que le da al trabajo. I think I have days having some difficulties to draw, maybe because I'm overloaded with many things including ideas, which I must organize, because if not I end up ruining many things I'm creating, but I'm very glad I managed to create Dorothy I certainly captured what they wanted and joins a series of original characters inspired by some people I've met. For this illustration I used prismacolor premier wood colors and I loved the texture, they are super soft and easy to blend, I think that's what I liked the most besides the intensity it gives to the work. Debo decir también que la música siempre es mi aliada, esto me ayuda muchísimo a la hora de dibujar, en esta ocasión me ayudó mucho la banda musical The Beach boys que tiene unas canciones fabulosas.
