Picking Nutmeg Fruits From My Plantation

avatar

I live in the village and my daily activity is to go to the garden to manage or take care of my garden so in my garden there are some nutmeg trees because it is time for the nutmeg to be harvested so I went to the garden that day to harvest the fruit, what else the tree.

In this post I will show my activities in harvesting nutmeg in a garden which also has several other plants, such as durian, jengkol, areca nut, so the seeds need to be taken, first I will do nutmeg picking, Nutmeg is one of the horticultural crops that have a high selling value and sometimes these seeds are exported abroad because of the nutmeg seeds. is one of the natural products that is widely used for various needs ranging from cosmetic needs to cooking spices to various other needs because nutmeg is one of the leading export commodities of spices in my country.

With two of my friends we went to the garden where there was a nutmeg tree until we arrived at the garden, the three of us shared the task, one friend picked nutmeg, I took the nutmeg that had been picked from under the tree and my other friend opened the skin of the nutmeg after my picking process also helps to open the skin of the nutmeg so that we can harvest the nutmeg more optimally.

So the process of harvesting this nutmeg is because the nutmeg tree is not too high which can be picked by hand or can be reached from below, I picked it straight away and did not need to climb the tree, there are also fruits that use poles and there are also fruits that are picked by means of the difference is climbing trees, so that what I can reach with my hands will quickly pick it up and those who have to climb trees will take a little longer in the process of picking this nutmeg.

There are about 10 nutmeg trees in my garden but not all the trees bear much fruit because they bear fruit twice a year so if I want to pick now in 6 months I can pick again and because this nutmeg plant is an annual plant, the growth period is also very slow. since the first time we planted it we had to wait up to 7 years to be able to produce nutmeg fruit and the age of this nutmeg tree is also very long, more than 30 years of fruiting, so planting a plant like this nutmeg tree is a pretty good future investment for the long term because it also horticultural commodities such as nutmeg have a fairly good price in the market.

So I continue the process of harvesting the nutmeg, after I pick it from the tree, the nutmeg needs to be peeled after the skin is opened, the seeds appear so the seeds are sold and there is a layer called mace, this mace also has a fairly expensive price, and this mace needs to be peeled to separate from the seeds.

After all the nutmeg seeds are peeled, then I take the seeds home and dry them for a few days after that the nutmeg seeds can be sold and also the mace need to be dried so that the song is better priced.

That's my process of picking nutmeg in the garden, I hope what I say is useful for all of you and thank you for your attention until we meet again next time.

Wow you and your friends really had a lot to do at your garden and it's so good to see you have so many harvest of the nutmeg, the processing looks like a lot of work though.

Keep up the good work.
