Today I want to tell you something that undeniably sometimes happens to many people, at least in my case I feel that there is nothing more comforting than a nice homemade meal. Made either by our mother, family or simply made by oneself.

In my previous job I used to travel a lot, and every time this happened I had to eat out, in restaurants, food fairs etc. Something that at the beginning was nice, fun, incredible. I will not deny that the first few months it was like magic, I arrived at the hotel, went to the restaurant, had breakfast, then went to work, the same thing was repeated when it was time for lunch, I had to look for a restaurant again and the same thing happened again at dinner time.

One day I would eat in one place, the next day in another and so on. Time went by and I got tired of that routine, and it became difficult just to decide where I was going to eat.

I confess that there came a time when I was no longer provoked by any type of food. And then that magic of eating in the street started to fade. And that had to be done one week in my city where I enjoyed eating at home and one week in my travel zone. In other words, I had to eat out about two weeks a month.

I looked for a way to alleviate some of that discomfort, and I got a lady in my travel area who made me dinners, and when I woke up I was already thinking about dinner that day, feet I knew I was going to eat like at home.

I have never appreciated my mom's homemade food so much, because it is in those situations when we value what we don't have, and even more when I love to cook and I have two special helpers at home.

When I got home, my mom would tell me: daughter, let's go buy a pizza, and I would say no, please, I want to eat an arepa.

And has anything like that ever happened to you?

It was a wonderful experience, which taught me to enjoy the food at home with more pleasure.

No hay nada más agradable que una comida hecha en casa

Hoy quiero comentarles algo que indiscutiblemente a veces suele ocurrirle a muchas personas, por lo menos en mi caso siento que no hay nada más reconfortante que una rica comida hecha en casa. Hecha ya sea por nuestra madre, familiar o sencillamente hecha por uno mismo.

En mi trabajo anterior me tocaba viajar mucho, y cada vez que esto ocurría debía comer afuera, en restaurantes, ferias de comida etc. Algo que al principio era agradable, divertido, increíble. No les voy a negar que los primeros meses fue como mágico, llegaba al hotel, iba al restaurant, desayunaba, luego iba a trabar, lo mismo se repetía cuando llegaba la hora del almuerzo, me tocaba nuevamente buscar restaurant y lo mismo volvía a ocurrir a la hora de la cena.

Un día comía en un lugar, al día siguiente en otro y así sucesivamente. Pasó el tiempo y esa rutina me fue cansando, ya se me hacía difícil sólo el hecho de decidir a donde iba a comer.

Les confieso que llega un momento que ya no me provocaba ningún tipo de comida. Y entonces esa magia de comer en la calle se fue apagando. Y eso debía hacerlo una semana en mi cuidad dónde si disfrutaba la comida en casa y una semana en mi zona de viaje. Es decir me tocaba comer fuera unas dos semanas al mes.

Busqué la manera de aliviar un poco ese malestar, y conseguí en mi zona de viaje una señora que me hacía las cenas, y cuando amanecí ya pensaba en la cena de ese día, pies sabía que iba a vómer como en casa.

Nunca había apreciado tanto la comida casera, la de mi mamá, pues es en esas situaciones cuando valoramos lo que no tenemos, y más aún cuando a mí me encanta cocinar y en casa tengo dos ayudantes especiales.

Cuando llegaba a casa, mi mama me decía: hija vamos a comprar una pizza, y yo decía no por favor quiero comerme una arepa.

Y a ustedes les ha ocurrido algo así?

Fue una experiencia maravillosa, que me enseñó a degustar con más placer la comida de mi casa.
