A few years ago I met a lady who painted pictures on mdf (fiberboard). She specifically made figures of African women. I particularly find them beautiful, because it is not only the painting, but also the combination of materials used for the dresses, the accessories; in short, to complete the whole work. We are talking about fabric, gauze, professional paste, cold paint, stones, colored wires, etc. A lot of materials are used to decorate and assemble the painting. The figure is placed in relief.

I was so impressed by the technique, that I asked her to teach me; and she very kindly told me to buy everything I needed, that she would gladly teach me. They never look as perfect as my friend's, but I have tried to take care of every detail to achieve beautiful paintings.

I proceeded to buy all the materials and went to 3 classes with her, so to speak. For 3 afternoons. And I made only one painting. The others I did at home little by little to practice and learn.

These paintings that I show you below were made by applying everything I learned. First clean the board very well and paint a white base or any light color. Then depending on what you want, you start tracing the figure you want to achieve. In some I used materials such as professional paste (the same used in construction); and in others I used gauze (the mesh used for cleaning wounds).

Once I have the base ready, I begin to prepare the body or figure of the African. There I use flexible dough, fabric for the costumes, cold paint, etc. And for the decorations of tendrils and bracelets I use colored wires. Once the image is finished I glue it to a piece of wood and this in turn to the base. In this way the figure is in relief.

Here I show you some of the ones I have made. As I am painting I am coming up with more ideas for new paintings.

Painting is very relaxing. I have done not only those kind of paintings. I also made a butterfly in zebra style that I combined with two paintings of African women.

Mis pinturas en MDF

Hace unos años atrás conocí a una señora que pintaba cuadros en mdf (es un tablero hecho con fibra de madera ). Específicamente hacía figuras de mujeres africanas. A mi particularmente me parecen hermosos, porque no sólo es la pintura, sino también la combinación de materiales que se usan para los vestidos, los accesorios; en resumen para lograr completar toda la obra. Estamos hablando desde tela, gasa, pasta profesional, pintura al frío, piedras, alambres de colores etc. Una gran cantidad de materiales que se usan para decorar y armar el cuadro. La figura va colocada en relieve.

Me llamó tanto la atención la técnica, que le pedí que me enseñara; y ella muy amablemente me dijo que comprara todo lo que necesitaba, que con mucho gusto me enseñaría. Jamás me quedan tan perfectos como a mi amiga, pero he tratado de cuidar cada detalle para lograr cuadros hermosos.

Procedí a comprar todos los materiales y fui a 3 clases con ella, por decirlo así. Durante 3 tardes. Y realicé un solo cuadro. Los demás fui haciéndolos en casa poco a poco para practicar y aprender.

Estos cuadros que les muestro a continuación los hice aplicando todo lo que aprendí. Primero se limpia la tabla muy bien y se pinta una base blanca o cualquier color claro. Luego dependiendo de lo que se desee, se comienza a trazar la figura q se desee lograr. En algunos utilicé materiales como la pasta profesional (la misma que se utiliza en construcción); y en otros usé gasa (la malla que se utiliza para limpieza de heridas).

Una vez que ya tengo la base lista, comienzo a preparar el cuerpo o la figura de la africana. Allí utilizo masa flexible, tela para los trajes, pintura al frío etc. Y para las decoraciones de zarcillos y pulseras uso alambres de colores. Una vez terminada la imagen la pego a un trozo de madera y esta a su vez a la base. De esta forma la figura queda en relieve.

Aquí les muestro algunos de los que he hecho. A medida que voy pintando se me van ocurriendo más ideas para nuevos cuadros.

Pintar es algo muy relajante. No sólo he hecho ese tipo de cuadros. También realicé una mariposa en estilo de cebra que combiné con dos cuadros de africanas.

Espero les guste, realmente realizar algún trabajo de manualidad aparte de usar nuestra imaginación nos ayudan a desarrollar agilidad.
