Meet some of my feathered friends

Hello Feathered Friends Lovers,

Here in Northern hemisphere it is spring time. Suddenly everything is awake and bees are buzzing, butterflies dancing in the air, other creatures come back to life too. Such a pleasure to walk when it is warm and to spend more time outside, having more opportunities to meet different birds. Let me show you what I have captured and added to my photo collection.

The Great Tit is an early bird. The song of this small bird can be heard loud and clear when I go for work early in the morning. This is a female great tit. The males got broader black line along the chest and belly.

Speaking about songs, now I would like to present the blackbird. Very delightful singer, a true competitor of the nightingale. This is female blackbird, brown in colour.

Look at this beauty - the Song Thrush.

I was happy to get it, as I always miss to see it when the thrush is on the ground, camouflaged well among the dry leaves and sticks. I don't think I heard how it's sounds. I have not a better photo, only ftom below, but it shows its lovely chest.

And now comes the starling. First a couple, than another and slowly more arrived and made the park noisy. But their noise is not unpleasant. They can imitate so many sounds, that one can be easily confused.

Next is a lucky shot. I don't know what exactly the starling is having in the beak.

After it was gobbled, the starling shook its feathers.

Moving on and here it is - our friend, the kestrel on its favourate spot, observing from the top. A little later it plunged and disappeared quickly.

Glad to capture another raptor - the Marsh harrier. I wasn't sure if it is not a Hen harrier and asked in Birds in Bulgaria Facebook group. I use Google lens to id the birds, but when the picture is not sharp and clear, the results are not correct. Thanks to that fb group, I know it is a male Marsh harrier.

And that's all for now, some highlights from my walks in the local park with my feathered friends.

Till next time. Happy birding!

Great photos, thanks for sharing! You already have a lot of birds. We don't have any migratory birds yet, kites and finches should arrive in early April.

Thank you for your nice comment 🙂
Greenfinches arrived, waiting for nightingale and flycatchers and shrikes. Bee-eaters only fly by and hope to see them too.

Thank you for your nice comment.
It is a small park, but full with life and also the area is much visited by migratory birds as well.

Increased bird activity can only mean one thing, time for the sandals very soon.

Isn't it great when a person or a group come to the rescue and know exactly what kind of bird you've taken a picture of.

I'm the worst at that.

Oh, yes, sandals time is near. 😀

We are enjoying really warm days and definitely it is t-shirt weather.

I am very grateful to the people who help me to id some of the birds. There are some experienced birders in this group.

Thank you 🙂
I am expecting more this weekend.
Suddenly the summer arrived, temperatures around 25°C.
But next week will cool down. Still, more and more of the migratory birds are arriving and I am excited what I will see next.

I was talking to my classmate, she lives in Detroit. Her flowers are already blooming, a real spring. And this week it started snowing.
There is a saying - the weather in spring is like a woman, very changeable and deceptive.

Haha, we have that saying for March. The weather is crazy. The heat wave here came from Sahara desert bringing a lot of dust with gusts of wind. Actually the wind was so strong, there were reports for fallen trees and broken branches.
