Hello friends, welcome to my blog, for this week's contest I chose a movie that I saw when I was a girl, but I watch it every time they repeat it because it reminds me a little of how my father was with us as children, this film starring Robin Williams and Sally Field, is Mrs. Doubtfire, which premiered in 1993, directed by Chris Columbus. I am a big fan of Robin Williams, I have seen all his movies and all his facets as an actor and comedian, but this one especially reminds me when I see my father, a wonderful being who died of cancer when he was still a teenager, in the way that he connected to his children by being at every important moment of their lives.

Hola amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog, para el concurso de esta semana escogí una película que vi siendo una niña, pero que siempre que repiten la veo porque me recuerda un poco a como era mi padre con nosotros de niños, esta cinta protagonizada por Robin Williams y Sally Field, es Mrs. Doubtfire, que se estrenó en 1993, dirigida por Chris Columbus. Soy una gran fan de Robin Williams, he visto todas sus películas y todas sus facetas como actor y comediante, pero está en especial me recuerda cuando la veo a mi padre, un ser maravilloso que falleció de cáncer cuando aún era una adolescente, en la forma que él se conectaba a sus hijos estando en cada momento importante de sus vidas.

One of the memorable scenes for me is when Daniel Hillard (Robin) tells the judge that he is addicted to his children, that he can't spend a day without seeing them, I think one of the most significant moments in the film, I don't know what it is growing up with divorced parents, because my parents were the eternal boyfriends, but many of my friends were; One of the things that we saw frequently and that fortunately is not seen so much anymore, is that after divorcing parents separate from their children. This scene is a reminder that there are many parents out there who, despite divorcing, continue to pay attention to their children, fight to be with them and be an important part of their lives.

Una de las escenas memorables para mí es cuando Daniel Hillard (Robin), le dice al juez que es adicto a sus hijos, que no puede pasar un día sin verlos, creo uno de los momentos más significativos de la película, no sé que es crecer con padres divorciados, porque mis padres fueron los eternos novios, pero muchos de mis amigos sí; unas de las cosas que veíamos con frecuencia y que afortunadamente ya no se ve tanto, es que luego de divorciarse los padres se desliguen de sus hijos. Esta escena es un recordatorio de que hay muchos padres allá afuera que a pesar de divorciarse siguen estando pendiente de sus hijos, luchan por estar con ellos y ser parte importante en sus vidas.

One of the things I love about the film is seeing how Daniel (Robin) tries to be friends with his children, to understand them, to help them and show them his love, about the problems he has with his wife, making it clear to his children that separating or not, is a problem of adults as a couple and that they are not to blame for that, I think this is important to always highlight the children. My father was the type of father who tells you bedtime stories, who plays dolls with you and who grows with you. During my adolescence he became friends with my friends (I must say that I did not like this, for fear that they would tell about some prank we did), those are just some of the things that I miss about him today and it makes me appreciate the wonderful what it was like to have him as a father.

Unas de las cosas que adoro de la cinta es ver como Daniel (Robin), trata de ser amigo de sus hijos, de entenderlos, de ayudarlos y mostrarle su amor, sobre los problemas que tenga con su esposa, dejándoles claro a sus hijos que el separarse o no, es un problema de adultos como pareja y que ellos no tienen culpa de eso, creo que esto es importante de resaltar siempre a los hijos. Mi padre fue del tipo de padre, que te cuenta cuentos antes de dormir, que juega contigo a las muñecas y que va creciendo contigo. Él en mi adolescencia se hizo amigo de mis amigos (debo decir, que esto no me gustaba, por miedo que ellos contaran alguna travesura que hicimos), esas son solo algunas de las cosas que hoy extraño de él y me hace más valorar lo maravilloso que fue tenerlo como padre.

A pesar de que esta cinta sea una comedia ligera, tiene muchas lecciones importantes y un mensaje hermosos sobre la familia y ser un buen padre, el madurar y aprender que otros dependen de ti y que debes estar a la altura de las circunstancias que se te presenten para ser por encima de todo y ser un buen padre para tus hijos. Siempre vemos películas que resaltan los valores de las madres, pero creo que también se deben resaltar el valor de los padres, no todos tenemos la suerte de tener padres o madres maravillosas, pero es bueno ver en el cine que se reflejen ambos papeles y se resalten. Esta es una de las muchas razones por la que escojo hoy esta cinta para el concurso, si no la viste hazlo.
