Hello Hive community, greetings to all.
Welcome once again to my blog and to @motherhood's weekly challenge with the #MonLife initiative, this time starting week #40 to talk a bit about the different conditions that our children can have and how our experiences with doctors and natural medicine have been.
Bienvenidos una vez más a mi blog y al reto semanal de @motherhood con la iniciativa #VidaDeMamá, en esta oportunidad iniciando la semana #40 para hablar un poco acerca de las diferentes condiciones que pueden tener nuestros hijos y que tal ha sido nuestra experiencias con los doctores y la medicina natural.
Week 40: Day 1|| Speech therapy // Terapia del Lenguaje
Well so far I know a little about this topic because my son currently receives speech therapy once a week, when he was two years old the doctor realized that he could not speak fluently because he had a frenulum under his tongue that prevented him , I immediately sent him to the speech therapist for an evaluation and to diagnose if it required surgery.
At this time we live in another place and the speech therapist gave him a diagnosis of a shoe, told us that surgery was not necessary and that with daily exercise it would improve, several months passed in which he had his exercises and there was no improvement, then the pandemic came and He could not attend any more but I performed them at home, due to various factors we moved and now his sensory therapist sent him again for evaluation, in which the diagnosis was totally different and worrisome for me.
My son does need therapy but not with it he will improve at all, because the main reason for receiving it is that if he needs surgery because he has a frenulum nicknamed heart which if it is possible to stretch with exercises but after a while it returns to its natural state and they begin speech problems again. So now he receives speech therapy to be able to stretch it as quickly as possible because he is already 4 years old and can cut it and after surgery he will receive post therapy again to expand his improvement.
Bueno hasta el momento se un poco de este tema pues mi hijo recibe terapia de lenguaje actualmente una vez por semana, cuando tenía dos añitos la doctora se dio cuenta que no lograba hablar con fluidez pues tenía un frenillo debajo de su lengua que se lo impedía, de inmediato lo mando con la foniatra para una evaluación y diagnosticar si este requería de cirugía.
En este momento vivimos en otro lugar y la foniatra le dio un diagnostico herrado, nos dijo que no hacía falta cirugía y que con ejercicio diario este mejoraría, pasaron varios meses en los que tuvo sus ejercicios y no hubo mejora, luego llego la pandemia y no pudo asistir más pero yo se las realizaba en casa, por diversos factores nos mudamos y ahora su terapeuta sensorial lo envió nuevamente a evaluación, en el cual el diagnóstico fue totalmente distinto y preocupante para mí.
Mi hijo si necesita terapia pero no con ella mejorara del todo, pues la razón principal de recibirla es que si necesita cirugía pues tiene un frenillo apodado corazón el cual si es posible estirar con ejercicios pero después de un tiempo vuelve a su estado natural y empiezan nuevamente los problemas del habla. Por lo que ahora recibe terapia de lenguaje para lograr estirarlo lo más rápido posible pues ya tiene 4 años y poder cortárselo y luego de cirugía recibirá nuevamente terapia post para ampliar su mejora.
Speech therapy for my son has been beneficial because it has greatly improved his way of expressing himself, how to pronounce words and has improved his learning, of course this is only the beginning because I hope that after the surgery his improvement will increase and can express yourself in a better way, as a mother I recommend you not always stay with a single opinion, because although the current economic situation is not easy to go to different doctors, sometimes a misdiagnosis can greatly delay the development and learning of our little ones.
La terapia de lenguaje para mi hijo ha sido beneficiosa pues ha mejorado mucho su forma de expresarse, como pronunciar las palabras y ha mejorado su aprendizaje, claro está que esto es solo el comienzo pues espero que después de la cirugía su mejora vaya en acenso y pueda expresarse de mejor manera, como madre les recomiendo no quedarse siempre con una solo opinión, pues aunque la situación económica actual no es fácil para ir a diferentes doctores, a veces un mal diagnostico puede retrasar mucho el desarrollo y aprendizaje de nuestros pequeños.
