y jamás supiste el tamaño real de tu estatura;
y te dijo que eras frágil, mujer,
para que no te creyeras dura.

Si amas: soportas, aguantas.
Hazlo por tu hijo, por tu familia, por tu casa.
Todo lo soporta el que ama,
... te dijeron.
Pero no, mi niña.
Nos han vendido una falacia.
El que ama no miente,
el que ama no daña.

Un poema para ti.gif

Love does not accept everything
And you closed your mouth like a door is closed
with a key and a lock,
and you gave the key to the others,
opinionators by profession, inventors of stocks.

And you grew purple flowers,
like tattoos on your face,
that you watered with your tears,
and in silence a thousand times you said enough, enough,
but they told you that a man's body is a gift...
that you must receive it even if you don't want it.

Oh, my child, you made of your silence a mantle
to cover everything,
believing it was part of the pact,
the small print of the white dress:
to be silent, to forgive, to accept.

He took off your dress, but also your pants
to leave you naked and without armor.
He took away your books, your words
and sowed doubt in you.
He preferred you in heels
and you never knew the real size of your stature
and told you that you were fragile, woman,
so you wouldn't think you were tough.

If you love: endure, endure.
Do it for your child, for your family, for your home.
He who loves bears all things,
... they told you.
But no, my child.
We have been sold a fallacy.
He who loves does not lie,
he who loves does not harm.

Heartfelt verses that tell hard truths and realities of a sexist society that still sees women as the servant of men.

Excellent verses for reflection.
Thanks for sharing.
Good day.

Thank you very much for your comment! Sometimes you have to make visible what is in plain sight. Regards

You have a brilliant mind, @nancybriti1! You captured the way the female gender has been ridiculed and objectified since time immemorial. This line summaries it,

We have been sold a fallacy...

If only we'd see this, start to believe in our strength and keep not silent. But it takes guts and is very doable! Beautifully written! !LUV 💜
