Terror psicológico, terror supernatural, drama, pueden ser características que hagan que una historia pueda captar la atención del público, todo depende de cómo se escriba esa historia, de cómo es interpretada por el director y los actores, no digo nada nuevo con esto, pero algunas veces, los guionistas y directores no saben cómo abarcar muchos temas en una sola historia y eso hace que se vea muy exagerada; el hacer este tipo de historias es un riesgo y creo que cuando se toma un bajo perfil, creo que es lo más adecuado para crear un impacto y así el proyecto pueda ser aceptado por críticos y el público.

Psychological horror, supernatural horror, drama, can be characteristics that make a story can capture the attention of the public, it all depends on how that story is written, how it is interpreted by the director and actors, I'm not saying anything new with this, but sometimes, screenwriters and directors do not know how to cover many topics in a single story and that makes it look very exaggerated; making this kind of stories is a risk and I think that when you take a low profile, I think it is the most appropriate to create an impact and so the project can be accepted by critics and the public.
En "The Night House" veremos la historia de Beth, una mujer que recientemente se ha convertido en viuda por la inesperada muerte de su esposo, el dolor de la perdida, la soledad y la culpa serán los nuevos acompañantes de Beth en la casa que construyó su esposo, pero justamente estos acompañantes no serán los mejores consejeros, es por eso que cuando comienza a indagar en la vida de su esposo descubrirá que en todos los años de casados existieron secretos, unos que nunca debieron ser descubiertos.
In "The Night House" we will see the story of Beth, a woman who has recently become a widow by the unexpected death of her husband, the pain of loss, loneliness and guilt will be the new companions of Beth in the house that her husband built, but precisely these companions will not be the best advisors, that is why when she begins to investigate the life of her husband will discover that in all the years of marriage there were secrets, some that should never have been discovered.
Este film fue estrenado en el Festival de Sundance de este año y desde ese momento había leído buenas opiniones sobre este film, esto hizo que captará mi atención y solo me quedaba esperar hasta su estreno, no quise buscar mucha información sobre su historia y hasta creo que ni siquiera vi el tráiler, quería solamente experimentar lo que había leído en las redes sociales; la dirección contó con David Bruckner quien ha dirigido películas como The Ritual (2017) para Netflix, también dirigió un episodio para el film de antología V/H/S (2012) y será el director del remake de Hellraiser que será estrenada el año que viene; en esta película hace un excelente trabajo creando escenas de tensión y suspenso, creo que usa muy bien un entorno oscuro en dónde la única zona de luz esté enfocada en su protagonista, esto te da la oportunidad para que cree muy buenas escenas, eso junto al sonido que al principio del film es algo importante, me gusta la forma de como las diferentes dentro de la casa tomen fuerza a causa de la arquitectura, es muy detallista y da la sensación de estar dentro de un laberinto y eso es perfecto para esta historia; me pareció genial varía de sus tomas y eso es por la gran fotografía que tiene.
El guion fue escrito por Ben Collins y Luke Piotrowski, para mí es excelente porque tiene muy buena historia, para ser sincero no es original, hay otros films que tratan sobre lo mismo, pero hay algo que está muy bien hecho y es el tratar diferentes temas, como la soledad, la culpa, la depresión cuando se pierde a alguien que ha estado contigo por tanto tiempo, esto es lo que considero importante en esta historia y tal como fue desarrollo desde el punto de vista de un film de terror creo que la hace mejor, lo considero muy inteligente por el uso de diferentes factores que tiene el personaje principal para que encaje tanto los temas antes citados con el terror que nos muestra está película, me gustaría ser más profundo en dar mi opinión de lo hecho por estos guionistas y el director, pero caería en hacer spoilers y eso es lo que siempre trato de evitar en mis publicaciones, lo que puedo decir es que vean la historia de su protagonista, la que ella relata, pendiente de los detalles y no dejen pasar desapercibido a los demás personajes, en realidad creo que este es un film muy bien escrito.
This film was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year and from that moment I had read good opinions about this film, this made it catch my attention and I just had to wait until its premiere, I didn't want to look for much information about its story and I don't even think I saw the trailer, I just wanted to experience what I had read on social networks; the direction featured David Bruckner who has directed films like The Ritual (2017) for Netflix, he also directed an episode for the anthology film V/H/S (2012) and will be the director of the Hellraiser remake to be released next year; in this film he does an excellent job creating scenes of tension and suspense, I think he uses very well a dark environment where the only area of light is focused on his protagonist, this gives you the opportunity to create very good scenes, that along with the sound that at the beginning of the film is something important, I like the way how the different inside the house take strength because of the architecture, it is very detailed and gives the feeling of being inside a maze and that is perfect for this story; I found great varies of his shots and that is because of the great photography that this film has.
The script was written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, for me it is excellent because it has very good story, to be honest it is not original, there are other films that deal with the same thing, but there is something that is very well done and it is dealing with different themes, such as loneliness, guilt, depression when you lose someone who has been with you for so long, this is what I consider important in this story and as it was developed from the point of view of a horror film I think it makes it better, I consider it very intelligent for the use of different factors that the main character has to fit both the above mentioned themes with the terror that shows us this film, I would like to be more profound in giving my opinion of what was done by these screenwriters and the director, but I would fall into making spoilers and that's what I always try to avoid in my publications, what I can say is that see the story of its protagonist, the one she tells, pending the details and do not let the other characters go unnoticed, actually I think this is a very well written film.
Rebecca Hall es todo en este film, su interpretación de "Beth" es bueno, me gustó cómo su actitud irónica cuando debe estar junto a otras personas, creo que debe ser el sistema de defensa que pueden usar personas para no enseñar el verdadero dolor que están sintiendo, lo otro es lo decidía para saber quién era la persona que ama, sin importar las consecuencias, definitivamente su personaje muestra fuerza, decisión, valentía, pero a la vez la soledad la doblega, llevándola a la depresión, paranoia, desespero y locura; me gustó mucho su trabajo, es perfecto para esta historia.
Rebecca Hall is everything in this film, her interpretation of "Beth" is good, I liked how her ironic attitude when she has to be with other people, I think it must be the defense system that people can use to not show the real pain they are feeling, the other thing is how determined she was to know who the person she loves was, no matter the consequences, definitely her character shows strength, decision, courage, but at the same time the loneliness bends her, leading her to depression, paranoia, despair and madness; I really liked her work, it is perfect for this story.
The Night House es un buen film, un excelente Thriller con muy buenas escenas de suspenso y con un buen acto final bien acordé a lo que realmente es el tema del film el cual no lo considero una simple historia de terror, para mí es algo más, uno que relata no algo sobrenatural o de un asesino en serie, algo más real y que algunas veces muchas personas desconocen porque sucede; espero ver en un futuro más trabajos tanto de su director como de sus guionistas quienes para mí junto a Hall son lo mejor del film; después de ver esta película me quedo claro porque ha gustado mucho, es una buena historia sobre cómo debemos lidiar con la muerte, con la perdida, cómo debemos llenar ese vacío que queda, lidiar con sentimientos como la culpa, la rabia que nos puede llevar a lugares oscuros y ser víctimas de miedos verdaderos, recomiendo esta película, espero que puedan verla y que después regresen y den su opinión sobre esta historia.
The Night House is a good film, an excellent Thriller with very good suspense scenes and with a good final act well agreed to what really is the theme of the film which I do not consider it a simple horror story, for me it is something more, one that tells not something supernatural or a serial killer, something more real and that sometimes many people do not know why it happens; I hope to see in the future more work from both its director and its screenwriters who for me along with Hall are the best of the film; after watching this movie it was clear to me why I liked it a lot, it is a good story about how we must deal with death, with loss, how we must fill that void that remains, deal with feelings like guilt, anger that can take us to dark places and be victims of real fears, I recommend this movie, I hope you can see it and then come back and give your opinion about this story.

Esta peli la ví esperando algo espectacular en el género de terror, pero la verdad que no la considero una obra maestra. Es un buen film, y vale la pena verlo, pero tampoco es la gran cosa. Lo que más me gusto es como hicieron para introducer la figura paranormal dentro de las cosas de la casa. Eso me pareció un excelente uso de la cámara y algo que no había visto antes.
No digo tampoco que sea una obra maestra, pero exalto la forma de como lo que puede padecer una persona, cosas como tristeza, depresión, culpa dolor y darle un significado con el uso de lo sobrenatural, cada una de lo que siente su protagonista, los demás personajes y hasta el ente en sí tengan mucha importancia, no la catalogo como la mejor, pero creo que es algo bien dirigido, escrito y actuado.
Me encantaría ver esta película después de leer tu reseña, me pareció súper interesante la historia, haré lo posible por verla. Gracias por compartir.
