Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - Movie Review [ES - EN]

Justamente hace un año después de ver "Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness", hice una promesa, la cual era no volver a ver un film del MCU en una sala de cine, esta decisión la mantuve durante todo el año y no me arrepiento porque cada film o serie de esta franquicia que en mi opinión no estaba a la altura de algunas de sus películas de las fases anteriores, pero "Las Promesas se Hicieron para Romperse"... Sé que esa frase no existe, ni mucho menos, pero era lo que pensaba cuando estaba sentado dentro de la sala de cine preparado para ver el tercer volumen sobre lo que primeramente fue un grupo de Outcast que después de tener varias aventuras, terminó convirtiéndose en una gran familia, se convirtieron en el grupo de héroes más grande de la galaxia.

Just a year ago after seeing "Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness", I made a promise, which was not to see again a film of the MCU in a movie theater, this decision I kept throughout the year and I do not regret it because every film or series of this franchise that in my opinion was not up to the height of some of his films of the previous phases, but "Promises Were Made to Be Broken".... I know that phrase doesn't exist, far from it, but it was what I was thinking when I was sitting inside the movie theater ready to see the third volume about what was first a group of Outcast that after having several adventures, ended up becoming a big family, they became the biggest group of heroes in the galaxy.

Después de nueve años, posiblemente la historia que nadie esperaba que se convirtiera en un gran éxito llega a su fin, primeramente esa es la premisa para "Guardiana of the Galaxy Vol. 3"; un cierre para las aventuras de este grupo que primeramente eran inadaptados y para después ser héroes; en especial para "Rocket" el cual su pasado seguía siendo una incógnita y como normalmente sucede en las terceras partes de una franquicia, ese pasado vendrá a crear graves problemas y justamente eso es lo que sucede y crea el motivo principal para que esta familia vuelva a tener una gran, divertida, emocionante, triste y libertadora aventura para poner fin a su historia como Guardianes de la Galaxia.

After nine years, possibly the story that no one expected to become a great success comes to an end, firstly that is the premise for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3"; a closure for the adventures of this group that first were misfits and then to be heroes; especially for "Rocket" whose past remained an unknown and as usually happens in the third parts of a franchise, that past will come to create serious problems and just that is what happens and creates the main reason for this family to return to have a great, fun, exciting, sad and liberating adventure to end their history as Guardians of the Galaxy.

No tengo ninguna duda que cuando se estrenó el primer film en el 2014, toda la fama, moda, el boom que generó Marvel Studios con su MCU fue lo que me motivó a ver ese film, sin tener ningún conocimiento de los personajes que aparecieron en esa producción; de igual manera disfrute mucho de toda esa historia, de todo ese grupo de personajes que estaban perdidos en la galaxia y que al encontrarse decidieron convertirse en héroes, mantenerse como grupo hasta el momento de cerrar un ciclo y decir adiós; está idea o plan la pensó el director y guionista James Gunn desde el comienzo y que a pesar de estar de acuerdo en ser parte de un universo cinematográfico, pudo plasmar su idea de relatar la historia de lo que primeramente eran cinco personajes y después pudieron unir o adoptar a otras más los cuales de una manera u otra tuvieron la importancia necesaria en el relato de la historia de los Guardianes.

En vez de referirme al trabajo en la dirección de Gunn el cual pienso que demostró nuevamente un buen desempeño, creo que es justo referirme a lo que más me ha gustado en esta tercera película y eso es el guion el cual considero perfecto para este estilo o género de films; la historia más que nada se centra en que a pesar de que cada uno de estos personajes están unidos por un lazo primeramente de amistad, la verdad es que se ven como una familia, pero todavía hay cosas que no se pueden sanar y eso evita crecer y evolucionar en una versión mejor de cada uno de ellos; justamente eso hace que con la aparición de una nueva amenaza, tenga la necesidad de enfrentarla para nuevamente llenar el vacío de lo incompleta que está sus vidas, pero para su sorpresa, esta nueva aventura los hará reflexionar sobre quienes eran, quienes son y en qué se quieren convertir y eso es genial, es algo perfecto por Gunn que supo planear entre los diálogos de cada uno de los personajes sin importar que diferentes escenas tenían, sea en un momento cómico, reflexivo, triste o de acción, cada uno de los personajes tiene la oportunidad de expresar sus sentimientos y justamente por eso es que el guion es uno de los mejores dentro del MCU.

I have no doubt that when the first film was released in 2014, all the fame, fashion, the boom that Marvel Studios generated with its MCU was what motivated me to see that film, without having any knowledge of the characters that appeared in that production; I also enjoyed a lot of that story, of all that group of characters that were lost in the galaxy and that when they met decided to become heroes, to stay as a group until the time to close a cycle and say goodbye; This idea or plan was thought by the director and screenwriter James Gunn**_ from the beginning and despite agreeing to be part of a cinematic universe, he was able to capture his idea of telling the story of what were first five characters and then they could join or adopt others who in one way or another had the necessary importance in the story of the history of the Guardians.

Instead of referring to the directing work of Gunn which I think showed again a good performance, I think it is fair to refer to what I liked the most in this third film and that is the script which I consider perfect for this style or genre of films; the story focuses on the fact that even though each of these characters are united by a bond of friendship, the truth is that they see each other as a family, but there are still things that can't be healed and that prevents them from growing and evolving into a better version of each other; just that makes that with the appearance of a new threat, they have the need to face it to fill the void of the incompleteness of their lives, but to their surprise, this new adventure will make them reflect on who they were, who they are and what they want to become and that's great, it's something perfect by Gunn who knew how to plan between the dialogues of each one of the characters no matter what different scenes they had, be it in a comic, reflective, sad or action moment, each one of the characters has the opportunity to express their feelings and that's exactly why the script is one of the best within the MCU.

El impacto que crearon estos personajes en la franquicia del MCU fue tal que en los eventos más importantes de la franquicia tomaron una notoria relevancia y es que cada uno de los actores que interpretan a estos personajes hicieron un excelente trabajo en cada aparición en el MCU aunque en este tercer film creo que es donde más me han gustado porque demuestran una faceta más unida, más fuerte entre ellos, posiblemente más cómoda que había notado en el especial navideño y que pienso que por eso, en el tercer volumen personajes como "Drax" y "Mantis" repitan protagonismo y que ahora es acompañado por el personaje de "Nebula", Interpretado por Karen Gillan, la cual se ha convertido en mi personaje favorito de esta franquicia; en mi opinión es tan divertida como los anteriormente citados y su interacción con cualquier personaje hace que la escena sea mucho mejor; creo que al no contar en la mayoría de escenas con "Rocket", ella toma el liderazgo de ser ese personaje que con poco siempre se convierte en relevante cuando está rodeada de los demás integrantes del grupo; no quiero dejar pasar la oportunidad en primeramente hacer referencia de Bradley Cooper quien le da voz a "Rocket" y que en esta oportunidad explora una faceta vulnerable, inocente, llena de esperanza la cual al quitársela, se convierte en el letal, burlón, desconfiado y solitario personaje que conocemos, el gran y verdadero Outcast del grupo; la evolución de este personaje junto al de Nebula es de lo mejor del film; también haré una breve, pero muy merecida opinión sobre "High Evolutionary" Interpretado por Chukwudi Iwuji quien es un gran villano, es el adecuado para finalizar esta historia y por eso muchos lo consideran como el mejor desde Thanos y es que una característica de esta franquicia es sobre la que hace referencia a la pobre escritura sobre los villanos, pero Gunn le dio todo un buen material a Iwuji, para dar vida a un personaje que siente y tiene poder para crear y destruir a quien sea sin importar nada y eso lo convierte en el mejor villano en las dos últimas fases del MCU.

The impact that these characters created in the MCU franchise was such that in the most important events of the franchise they took a notorious relevance and is that each of the actors who play these characters did an excellent job in each appearance in the MCU although in this third film I think it is where I liked the most because they show a more united facet, stronger between them, possibly more comfortable than I had noticed in the Christmas special and that I think that's why, in the third volume characters like "Drax" and "Mantis" repeat protagonism and that is now accompanied by the character of "Nebula", Played by Karen Gillan, which has become my favorite character in this franchise; in my opinion she is as funny as the above mentioned and her interaction with any character makes the scene much better; I think that by not having in most scenes with "Rocket", she takes the lead of being that character that with little always becomes relevant when she is surrounded by the other members of the group; I do not want to miss the opportunity to first refer to Bradley Cooper who gives voice to "Rocket" and that this time explores a vulnerable, innocent, full of hope facet which when removed, becomes the lethal, mocking, distrustful and lonely character we know, the great and true Outcast of the group; the evolution of this character along with Nebula is the best of the film; I will also make a brief, but very deserved opinion about "High Evolutionary" Played by Chukwudi Iwuji who is a great villain, he is the right one to finish this story and that's why many consider him as the best since Thanos and is that a characteristic of this franchise is about the one that makes reference to the poor writing about the villains, but Gunn gave all good material to Iwuji, to give life to a character that feels and has power to create and destroy anyone no matter what and that makes him the best villain in the last two phases of the MCU.

Personalmente, sigo manteniendo que el MCU es parte de la fatiga del género de películas basadas en comics y es que todo esté asunto de seguir manteniendo un universo unificado de películas afectan el desarrollo de las historias de cada uno de los personajes, pero justamente en esta franquicia de Guardiana of the Galaxy, a pesar de tener una gran relación con todo lo sucedido en las primeras tres fases del MCU, se sintió a la vez alejado de todo y eso hizo que funcionará; la historia de cada personaje que en un principio eran solitarios, motivados por la violencia, venganza, víctimas de traumas irreparables y que al encontrarse crean una zona de confort tan fuerte que por un buen tiempo no pueden vivir sin que falte alguno del grupo y es por eso que cuando uno de ellos está en un grave peligro, entonces los restantes harán lo imposible para salvarle, eso en sí es lo que demuestra este film que con este aventura final, reveladora, consigue cerrar círculos para varios actores y en especial su director y guionista que consiguió con este último film dar relevancia a los dos films anteriores, en especial el "Volumen 2" que era la que menos me gustaba de la participación de estos héroes, pero después de ver este tercer film, solo puedo pensar en que posiblemente estuve viendo la historia enfocado en un solo personaje y no en los muchos otros que seguramente me dieran una perspectiva mejor de la historia y seguramente en estos días, decida ver los primeros volúmenes antes de volver a ver este gran cierre; antes de cerrar con esta reseña, diré que en esta oportunidad, los créditos iniciales del Vol 3, es mi favorito y es lo mejor para dar una referencia de lo que es está película y nos prepara para el final en donde los días malos pueden estar cerca de terminar y también nos dice que "GotG" debe tener el mejor soundtrack de todo el MCU.

Personally, I still maintain that the MCU is part of the fatigue of the comic book based movie genre and that this whole issue of continuing to maintain a unified universe of movies affect the development of the stories of each of the characters, but just in this franchise of Guardiana of the Galaxy, despite having a great relationship with everything that happened in the first three phases of the MCU, it felt at the same time away from everything and that made it work; the story of each character who were initially loners, motivated by violence, revenge, victims of irreparable trauma and who when they meet each other create such a strong comfort zone that for a good while they can't live without one of the group missing and that's why when one of them is in grave danger, then the rest will do the impossible to save him, that in itself is what this film demonstrates that with this final, revealing adventure, manages to close circles for several actors and especially its director and screenwriter who managed with this last film to give relevance to the two previous films, especially the "Volume 2" which was the one I liked the least of the participation of these heroes, but after seeing this third film, I can only think that possibly I was watching the story focused on a single character and not in the many others that surely would give me a better perspective of the story and surely these days, decide to see the first volumes before returning to see this great closure; before closing with this review, I will say that in this opportunity, the opening credits of Vol 3, is my favorite and is the best to give a reference of what this movie is and prepares us for the end where the bad days may be close to end and also tells us that "GotG" must have the best soundtrack of all the MCU.
