Glass Onion - Film Review [ESP|ENG]
En el 2019, el director Rian Johnson, escribió y dirigió un film de miesterio y comedía llamado "Knives Out"; este era su primer film despeus del estreno de "The Last Jedi" el cual levantó tanta admiración cómo odio y por eso está era una gran oportunidad de hacer un film pequeño, pero que contara con un buen (o llamativo) cast para hacer más atractivo el film; el resultado final fue que está historia de misterio resultó ser una gran sorpresa, un homenaje a muchas otras producciones con un estilo particular de relatar cómo se esclarece un misterio y aunque la manera de dirigir de Johnson se me hizo muy parecida a la de Wes Anderson, debo decir que me pareció excelente su manera de relatar esa historia y me hizo querer ver más sobre los misterios que deberá esclarecer el detective "Benoit Blanc".
In 2019, the director Rian Johnson, wrote and directed a mystery and comedy film called "Knives Out"; this was his first film after the release of "The Last Jedi" which raised as much admiration as hate and therefore this was a great opportunity to make a small film, but with a good (or striking) cast to make the film more attractive; The final result was that this mystery story turned out to be a great surprise, a tribute to many other productions with a particular style of telling how a mystery is solved and although the way of directing of Johnson was very similar to that of Wes Anderson, I must say that I found his way of telling this story excellent and it made me want to see more about the mysteries that detective "Benoit Blanc" will have to solve.
Era de esperar que en algún momento Johnson realizara una secuela de la exitosa "Knives Out", lo que no esperaba era que hubiera que esperar tan poco y que el estreno de este film y posiblemente otro más ocurra en Netflix, pero como dije anteriormente, el éxito del film del 2019 hizo que los ojos del entretenimiento se posaran en tan buena historia para crear una franquicia aunque por supuesto se crea la presión de hacer un trabajo que iguale o supere al que inició todo. En "Glass Onion" veremos cómo la aparición de la pandemia afecta a una de las mentes más maravillosas del mundo; el detective "Benoit Blanc" no está lidiando muy bien con todo lo que tiene que ver con el aislamiento y cada vez más piensa que está cerca de perder la razón y posiblemente eso sea debido al nulo contacto con el mundo, pero la realidad es que al no tener ningún reto, prueba, ningún misterio que resolver lo hace cada vez más sentir desesperación, pero un día alguien toca a su puerta con una invitación a un maravilloso lugar, una isla privada en dónde será parte de una fiesta entre un grupo de "amigos" los cuales secretos y mentiras los convertirán tanto en víctimas como sospechosos.
It was expected that at some point Johnson would make a sequel to the successful "Knives Out", what I didn't expect was that there would be such a short wait and that the release of this film and possibly another one will happen on Netflix, but as I said before, the success of the 2019 film made the eyes of entertainment fall on such a good story to create a franchise although of course it creates the pressure to make a work that equals or surpasses the one that started it all. In "Glass Onion " we will see how the emergence of the pandemic affects one of the most wonderful minds in the world; The detective "Benoit Blanc" is not dealing very well with everything that has to do with isolation and increasingly thinks he is close to losing his mind and possibly that is due to the lack of contact with the world, but the reality is that having no challenge, no test, no mystery to solve makes him increasingly feel despair, but one day someone knocks on his door with an invitation to a wonderful place, a private island where he will be part of a party among a group of "friends" whose secrets and lies will make them both victims and suspects.
El trabajo de Rian Johnson es uno que me ha gustado de ver desde películas como "Looper", "The Last Jedi" (a pesar de lo bueno y malo) y por supuesto "Knives Out"; creo que es un director y guionista que cuando tiene el completo control de la producción obtiene un buen resultado. Una de mis críticas con respecto a la primera película de esta franquicia fue el partido con el trabajo de Anderson, aunque encontré perfecto es estilo para relatar esa historia en dónde por la gran cantidad de personajes y el misterio que resolver, era lógico tener ese tipo de edición para desarrollar a cada uno de los personajes; ahora en esta oportunidad con tan pocos personajes y con una historia directa era necesario demostrar otro estilo de dirección aunque en momentos presenta ese uso de edición que hace más atractiva la narrativa. Me gustó el trabajo de cámara porque crea tomas excelentes tanto al comienzo como en las escenas finales, las cuales son las que encontré muy buenas.
La historia es muy buena; en esta segundo film de la ahora franquicia presenta la gran diferencia con el film anterior en que se enfoca mucho en quien es "Benoit Blanc", me parece excelente el cómo Johnson crea buenos personajes que funcionan para hacer una crítica sobre lo habitual en nuestra sociedad; ahora lo mejor es que está historia está habituada dos años atrás y aunque hay cosas que se han "superado", ahora hay otras dónde sorprende lo parecido a sucesos del ahora; con respecto a lo importante del film, el misterio, es notorio la influencia de historias como las realizadas por Agatha Christie, un solo lugar, muchos sospechosos, un crimen con poco tiempo para resolver; esto hizo que la historia sea divertida y rápida a pesar de tener una duración de más de dos horas.
The work of Rian Johnson is one that I have enjoyed watching since films like "Looper", "The Last Jedi" (despite the good and bad) and of course "Knives Out"; I think he is a director and screenwriter that when he has complete control of the production gets a good result. One of my criticisms regarding the first film of this franchise was the match with the work of Anderson, although I found perfect is style to tell that story where by the large number of characters and the mystery to solve, it was logical to have that kind of editing to develop each of the characters; now in this opportunity with so few characters and with a direct story was necessary to demonstrate another style of direction although at times presents that use of editing that makes the narrative more attractive. I liked the camera work because it creates excellent shots both at the beginning and in the final scenes, which I found very good.
The story is very good; in this second film of the now franchise presents the big difference with the previous film in that it focuses a lot on who is "Benoit Blanc", I find excellent how Johnson creates good characters that work to make a criticism about the usual in our society; now the best thing is that this story is used two years ago and although there are things that have been "overcome", now there are others where it is surprising how similar to events of the now; with respect to the important part of the film, the mystery, it is notorious the influence of stories like those made by Agatha Christie, a single place, many suspects, a crime with little time to solve; this made the story fun and fast despite having a duration of more than two hours.
Daniel Craig es un excelente actor y está es otra oportunidad para demostrarlo; me parece muy bien que está vez tenga mucho protagonismo lo cual en mi opinión es una gran diferencia con el anterior film; está es una historia donde podemos ondear en quién es "Benoit Blanc"", en como le ha afectado un aislamiento y de como es un adicto a un verdadero reto, a una prueba de inteligencia y creo que hace aún más divertido a este personaje porque sigue mostrando esa influencia de otros personajes de series de TV como "Jessica Fletcher" de "Murder, She Wrote" (La Reportera del Crimen) y de "Columbo". Con respecto al amplio cast que acompaña a Craig, cada uno de ellos, tenga más o menos escenas, hacen un excelente trabajo, ya que todos son sospechosos, no hay ningún de estos personajes que este libre de cometer un crimen y creo que así como sucede en Knives Out, cada uno está tan cerca de hacer algo imperdonable, si no es que ya lo han hecho; me gustaría referirme más a cada uno de estos personajes porque en mi opinión cada uno está muy bien escrito y muy bien personificado.
Daniel Craig is an excellent actor and this is another opportunity to prove it; I think it's great that this time he has a lot of protagonism which in my opinion is a big difference with the previous film; this is a story where we can undulate who "Benoit Blanc" is, how isolation has affected him and how he is addicted to a real challenge, a test of intelligence and I think it makes this character even more fun because he continues to show the influence of other characters from TV series like "Jessica Fletcher" from "Murder, She Wrote" and "Columbo". Regarding the large cast that accompanies Craig, each one of them, whether they have more or less scenes, do an excellent job, as they are all suspects, there is not one of these characters that is free from committing a crime and I believe that just as it happens in Knives Out, each one is so close to doing something unforgivable, if not already done; I would like to refer more to each one of these characters because in my opinion each one is very well written and very well personified.
Este año, sumando a Glass Onion, he visto tres films en dónde se debe resolver un misterio; los tres films han demostrado mucha influencia del trabajo realizado por Agatha Christie; este me gustó porque tanto las escenas, el lugar, los personajes y la música crean el ambiente perfecto para el desarrollo de un misterioso crimen que se debe resolver. Sobre si este film es mejor que el primero, creo que al ser una historia corta, rápida o directa, en mi opinión es un factor fundamental para que sea aún más entretenido, otro puede ser el humor el cual en esta oportunidad está repartido entre dos personajes y no como el anterior en dónde había más libertad para que muchos otros tuvieran la oportunidad de realizar escenas cómicas, pero eso no evita de que en esta segunda parte no exista buena comedia, a lo contrario, ya que esta película es divertida; puedo citar otro factor el cual es muy personal y es que decidí no saber absolutamente nada de la historia, no tener conocimiento de quien era la víctima ni mucho menos quienes eran los sospechosos, esto fue algo de lo cual me cuide porque no quería hacer ninguna teoría que al final me arruine la experiencia de disfrutar esta película y sin ninguna duda debo decir que fue lo mejor. Este nuevo film de Johnson junto a Craig nos demuestra como el compromiso tanto del actor como del guionista y director están dispuestos a hacer crecer aún más a este personaje y espero que muy pronto podamos disfrutar de otra investigación más, de otra historia de uno de los mejores detectives del mundo, Benoit Blanc.
This year, adding Glass Onion, I have seen three films where a mystery must be solved; all three films have shown a lot of influence of the work done by Agatha Christie; I liked this one because the scenes, the place, the characters and the music create the perfect atmosphere for the development of a mysterious crime that must be solved. About if this film is better than the first one, I think that being a short, fast or direct story, in my opinion is a fundamental factor to make it even more entertaining, another may be the humor which in this opportunity is distributed between two characters and not like the previous one where there was more freedom for many others to have the opportunity to perform comic scenes, but that does not prevent that in this second part there is no good comedy, on the contrary, since this film is fun; I can cite another factor which is very personal and that is that I decided not to know absolutely nothing of the story, not having knowledge of who the victim was, much less who the suspects were, this was something that I took care of because I did not want to make any theory that in the end would ruin the experience of enjoying this film and without any doubt I must say that it was the best. This new film by Johnson together with Craig shows us how the commitment of both the actor and the writer and director are willing to make this character grow even more and I hope that very soon we can enjoy another investigation, another story of one of the best detectives in the world, Benoit Blanc.

I really cannot wait to see Glass Onion. Knives Out was a really nice movie and I expect Glass Onion to be good too. From the initial looks of Knives Out, it seemed like Benoit Blanc would not be so much of a detective but I liked how he proved his value in the end. Now, I just want to see him solve more mysteries. Thankfully, this movie is now available on Netflix and I will see it soon.
I decided to watch it now because I was afraid that spoilers on social media would ruin the movie for me.
I had a great time watching Glass Onion, it's a good film, as good as Knives Out although in my opinion it makes it better because of the great leading role of Benoit Blanc.
Bueno la primera no me gustó, está segunda fue más entretenida aunque no diría buena...
Recargable el elenco, además el final fue lo peor de la peli
Cada uno tiene diferentes gustos; mi opinión de ambas películas es son buenas y sobre el final, para mí fue muy bueno, es como digo en el publicación, un reflejo de lo cotidiano,de la actualidad, eso de elevar una imagen de alguien sin cuestionar nada y en dónde su egocentrismo puede ocasionar una dura caída.
Aa ah ya la viste. Yo todavía tengo mal mi conexión, no he podido ver nada 😞 pero me alegra saber que es entretenido, tengo fe en que será un film que me gustará , aunque no esté Ana de Armas jajaja ojalá pueda verla pronto, lo de mi internet me tiene todo atrasado.
Es buena, es divertida con una versión de Benoit Blanc más libre (por así decirlo).
Creo que Johnson y Daniel Craig volverán a trabajar juntos y eso porque el director parece que todavía no regresará muy pronto a star wars
Tengo unas ganas de verla, tremendas. Me daba miedo que fuera a bajar un poco la calidad al ser una secuela, pero por lo poco que pude leer (vi todo muy por encima para no echarme un spoiler) creo que sigue en la misma línea que la primera, así que creo que aprovecharé estos días para verla.

En mi opinión es un buen film con cosas nuevas aunque sigue con un buen homenaje a otras producciones de misterio.
Puedo decir que cumple porque al finalizar esperaba ver otro episodio más de esta franquicia.

I saw this movie yesterday, and I loved it, at first I thought it was a bit crazy, but then the whole murder mystery, and how it was solved was great, very good acting, and I definitely must watch Knives Out. Very good review, regards.

I probably enjoy Knives Out more because I think it's more comedic and that's because of the more characters and I'm not saying the first one is better than this new film, just that there's more humor, but yes, the resolution of the mystery in Glass Onion is something very well told.
Hola!! Hace unos días vi esta película y no tenía idea que se trataba de una franquicia y que ya tenía otras producciones previas estrenadas. Aunque el elenco me pareció exquisito y creo que cada uno de los actores realizó una buena interpretación, el trabajo en conjunto y el resultado no me fascinaron.
La escenografía me gustó muchísimo, la idea también, pero es como que hubo demasiada producción hacia afuera, pero faltó un trabajo interno de conexión entre los mismos personajes y actores, como que sentí que estaba fragmentada la historia. Aunque bueno, en parte esa era la historia y se reúnen en ese fin de semana.
En general me gustó, pero me dejó gusto a poco.
Creo que la historia es sobre eso, un grupo de amigos unidos por darle valor a una mentira y por eso están siempre separados aunque hay un factor importante que los une, pero eso no significa que sigan siendo amigos; en mi opinión era justo que eso ocurriera para que cada uno tenga el potencial de ser el asesino.
Le recomiendo Knives Out, también está en Netflix, es muy buen film.
