Fable of the fly and the bee

Once upon a time there were two insects named Zumbi and Picoteo.

Zumbi was a hard-working and responsible bee, while Picoteo was a lazy and gluttonous fly.

Both lived in a beautiful garden, each with his own approach to life.

Zumbi was always striving to collect nectar and pollen, working diligently to maintain her hive and help nature.

On the other hand, Picoteo was only concerned with foraging for quick and easy food, not caring about the impact he had on his environment.

One day, as Zumbi was buzzing from flower to flower, he saw Picoteo fluttering near a garbage can.

Zumbi approached him and asked:

-Picoteo, why are you content to eat scraps and not join me in the search for nectar and pollen? There is so much more we can do together.

Picoteo, with a mouth full of garbage, replied reluctantly:

-I don't need to work as hard as you do, Zumbi. I can easily get food without having to work so hard.

Zumbi sighed and told him:

-Picoteo, life is not just about easy and fast. Hard work and dedication allow us to grow and contribute positively to our environment. If we only seek instant gratification, we will end up hurting others and ourselves.

Picoteo, not paying much attention, continued his feast in the garbage can. But soon after, he realized that he did not feel satisfied and that he was surrounded by nasty flies.

He realized that he had taken the easy way out, but had sacrificed true happiness and respect for the world around him.

Regretful, Picoteo flew to Zumbi and asked for help to change his ways. Zumbi generously offered him some nectar to taste and invited him to join him in his laborious task of pollination.

From that day on, Picoteo learned the value of hard work and became a more responsible fly. Together, Zumbi and Picoteo worked in harmony, benefiting the garden and all living things around them.

The moral of this fable is that instant gratification does not always lead to true satisfaction and that hard work and dedication can bring lasting rewards. It also shows that we can all change and improve if we are willing to do so.
