WEEK #314 | In life, you learn even more from your failures 🙇🏽♀️

Hello, friends of the Weekend-Experiences community! It has been a while since the last time I posted here. I am glad to see these new prompts proposed by @galenkp because I feel each one has a way of making us reflect on the life path we are walking. The topic I chose was success. When we talk about being successful, it also involves looking back at all those times we made multiple attempts and thought we had failed, but in the end, they led us to grow as human beings or to learn how to do things better.

Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm: What do you think of this quote and how could it apply to you? Explain.

I have been someone who has gone through different places and stages where I learned that the more I try to rush, the slower I reach the goals I set for myself, and that can get a bit frustrating. Starting with the fact that at some point, I believed life would be linear for me—having a career ready at a certain age and starting to work right after graduation. Or hitting certain milestones at this age, which is supposedly when you should already have many goals accomplished. It is a bit frustrating because perhaps due to my inability to see my full potential, I have wasted time and moments that could have been beneficial for my growth.

When you are in a situation where things take twice the effort to achieve, it becomes difficult not to think about throwing in the towel. But somehow, I have always thought that I can no longer allow myself to keep leaving things half-done. I have started different courses and finished them, even while fearing I wouldn't be the best student or apprentice; however, the process has taught me that I am capable of achieving many things. I just need to have more patience with my own processes and give myself more credit for all those times when I lacked the mood or motivation and still pushed forward until completing every goal I set.
Something I have learned is that we must not let opportunities pass us by. Even if we think it is something that might take time or is completely unfamiliar to us, it is necessary to give ourselves the chance to keep learning and seize every occasion to grow. It is never too late to learn new things, and if we have the health, the willingness, and the desire to achieve something new, then we need to encourage and motivate ourselves to do it. I used to think that studying was something I could no longer do and that I wouldn't get the chance to pursue what I am passionate about, but now I am studying at nearly thirty years old. And although I might have liked to do it much sooner, the opportunity is right here in front of me now, and I am not going to let it pass.

I don't think absolute failure exists, because everything we do leaves us with a lesson that can change even our way of thinking and viewing life. For me, being able to keep learning fills me with gratitude, and even though I sometimes get overwhelmed by not understanding certain topics I am studying, I tell myself it is my first time doing this and I keep going. For me, doing so is proof that regardless of the circumstances, life has always allowed me to keep moving forward, learning from mistakes and failures. Even if it sounds a bit cliché, I believe you learn more from losing than from winning.

I hope you liked this post, and I would also like you to leave me your comments; I will gladly read them and will respond to them. Big hugs. 🤗

You said it yourself: failure doesn't really exist, because there's a lesson to be learned from it. Everything in life happens for a reason, and what seems like a failure is actually a step toward success, we just realize it over time. I felt that way at one point, too, like I should have accomplished a lot by a certain age, but there were so many obstacles. Who says I should have done that? What if the path is different?
What I’ve learned is that everyone has their own timeline for things and that there’s a lesson to be learned from everything. Thanks for your thoughts. Big hug!🤗

Hello, my friend, thank you for taking the time to read this post. The truth is that life is different for everyone: some have a clearer path ahead, whilst others find it a bit harder to realise what we can actually do with our skills and resources. We all have a different path, which isn’t always straightforward, but which allows us to grow as people. Sending you a big hug 🫶🏽🤗
It will always be a journey of learning; that's why we come into this world—to have experiences. Hugs!!
😘
You have lots of positivity in you, thought there's a risk of failure, but thats not enough to stop you from trying. And being like that I think is awesome. Facing the failures and learn a lot from it, the use it as you move forward, and just the first failure, the second, the thirds, all these will surely give us lessons and instead of demotivation, u become more motivated to do well and just try again. I can say, I am like that but only to the things I like. If I know it is easy, I'll go for it..but if not and I know the risk, nvm, I'll try different one, lol. I say, its easy for me to give up on things even though it is that just one opportunity. I wish I could be more like u ┐(‘~`;)┌
Hello, my dear friend, I find myself in the same boat – sometimes I feel like giving up when I see that things aren’t turning out as I’d hoped. It’s just that now, as I’m a bit older, I realise that not everything has to be perfect; there are things we’re good at and others that take a bit more trying and effort. I’m not always so positive, but there’s something inside me that tells me not to give up because maybe next time I’ll do better and get closer to what I want to achieve. Sending you a big hug 🤗
I completely agree. It's important not to let opportunities that come our way slip by. But we can always achieve the goals we've put off if the opportunity arises.
That’s right, my dear friend, there have been times when I’ve thought that the right opportunity won’t come along, but sometimes we have to create our own opportunities too, because life can pass us by if we just sit around waiting. A big hug 🫶🏽🤗
