5 minute freewrite Sunday no prompt

My granddaughter came today, she brings food for her dog that we are caring for. When we took her dog, I told her that if she wanted her to eat the food that she has been eating, she will need to buy it. It is 70 dollars for a 12 and 1/2 pound bag. So she drives down here and brings a bag of food when needed.

Today she brought me something, too. She was at Goodwill and saw this old stereo and thought I would like it. I did not want to hurt her feelings but I told her that it has a cd player and it is not all that old. She looked at me and said, "Grandma, it is from 2010, that is old". I could barely keep a straight face but held my laughter. I love that girl.

My right boot has had a split in the bottom of it and on my husband's boat, my foot stays wet.

I have tried to patch it with PVC glue, silicone sealer, and caulking. Today I took an old soldering gun and heated it up.

the soldering gun melted the rubber back together, I shined a flashlight through it and can not see any light come out so I think it worked.

It doesn't look that great, but who is going to see the bottom of my boot.
