5 minute freewrite Friday prompt *car repair*

My picture is of an alligator snapping turtle. My husband was driving home and saw it in our driveway he put it in his truck so he could show it to me. Then he took it to the big pond on the next road over and let it go. Even at this size, they are little bad-asses. The saying is if one bites you they will not let go until it thunders.

Last April as I was putting my boat on the trailer my truck jumped into reverse and started rolling backward. I jumped out of the boat and ran in waist-deep water to the truck, I got the door open but it knocked me down. It took a couple of tries before I was able to get in it and it put in drive. Water was rushing in the cab door but the engine did not go under.

This was how I tried to dry the carpet, I used the shop-vac to suck up the water then put a fan in both doors.

My husband told me that he will give it 6 months before I start having trouble with it. He was wrong, it has only been 5 months. I have to hook jumper cables to his truck to get it to start. We took the oldest battery out and replaced it with a new one and it still would not start. We bought another battery, it takes 2, with 2 new batteries it started.

The next day, it would not start, we had to jump it. I have been starting it each day and let it run for 5 minutes, this is without jumping but I missed starting it yesterday and today it will not start.

I need a car repair guy and a boat motor repair guy. It would be nice if they were one in the same. I worked on my boat motor again today, I got to thinking about the fuel pump and wondered it one of the new parts that I put in it had a hole, but after taking it apart and shining a flashlight on them, there is no holes. So back to square one.
