The Tour To The Wonderful Sajek: Beautiful Bangladesh

avatar

Let’s take you to the beautiful Sajek Valley and let me share the experience of Sajek day and night.

Six of us started the tour for a couple of days. Let me tell you one thing if you want to make a budget tour and love to enjoy the Jeep journey you need to have 12 people on board to minimize the cost (cost is fixed, whether people 2 0r 12). The jeep “Chander Gari” locally called is the best way to be the Sajek but CNG, Bike and the private car could be your companion.

Sajek is an exclusive destination for tourists and travelers so you need to book your tickets ahead. Also, try to book seats in the front and middle due to the hilly road starting just after crossing ‘Mirersorai’ while you would experience jerk and sharp turns.

If you were a traveler person you will not able to sleep after Mirersorai, you would feel the thrill of these sharp hilly roads and it would look like you are watching a horror movie.

Our bus reached at Khagrachori bus stand just before Sunrise, the red sun welcome us. We get off at “Shapla Chattar” where we hire the jeep, we met another group of 4 people and we merged to hire the jeep. We took the package of one night stay at sajek+ sightseeing places included "Alu Tila Cave" and "Raisang Waterfall", which costs 9700 BDT and it, would be 13000 if you want to stay two nights. I will not recommend a day tour (which is 7500 only) as you, will not have enough time to see the beauty.

The 75 Kilometer journey always will be in my mind.

After reserving the Jeep we went for our breakfast to the closest restaurant (they open early), in the way from Khagrachori to Sajek you need to enter your name three times in the BGB. At first, we had our first stop at Baghaichori, everybody should stand here as a compulsory. Due to security reasons, every day two escorts of the Army take the tour up to Sajek and bring it back.

At Baghaichori there is a very little market where local people sell fruits and you could have them, fresh fruits would refresh your morning for the next couple of hours journey.

The escort starts at 10.50 and it is a busy day for Sajek more or less 300 private & rented cars, CNG, Bikes and of course jeeps were included in the escort.
We were already fascinated watching the zigzag way and the green hills and the rest of the way were even beautiful.

Our cottage was on the Konglak’s top, which is 1800 feet above sea level. Actually, Sajek Vally is the combination of Konglak Para & Ruilui Para. Konglak hill is home to a small group of Tripura & Lusai ethnic people. The highest peak of Sajek is located at Konglak para and you could watch all the beautiful little hills beneath this peak, the beautiful Rangamati Hill Tracts in the Eastside and the range of mountains of Mijoram on the East side will definitely attract you.

We have reached our cottage nearly 1pm and were starving. We did not order in advance but you should do it otherwise you have to starve for at least a couple of hours as the location is far from the ground and everything comes here from miles away. In addition, before ordering the food at the cottage you need to know the price and make time.

I used to know the Sunset on the sea beach is only beautiful but definitely, I was wrong. We wanted to watch the sunset and people used to go to the Helipad area to watch it, we did the same but if you go for a couple of days, my suggestion is to watch one Sunset from Konglak and another one from the Helipad area. We were not lucky enough as the sun was hiding behind the clouds.

In the evening, we wanted to go to the Ruilui Para, I will describe the evening of the Sajek in the next post. Be with me.

The best part was on the Jeep roof ! It feels like watching the hills from a drone. Thank you for your comments, soon I will drop the details of the evening we have enjoyed at "Ruilui Para", I have started to write already!

Thanks!

Please go when the rainy 🌧 season just end so that you'd have lots of clouds around you!!! You could go during rain as well just take a good umbrella 🌂 with you 😀.

Believe me Sajek is amazing!
