The Third Gender, Hijra and their Unethical Activities (হিজড়া সন্ত্রাস)

The problem is huge and we are sufferers, it is not the first time we had a similar kind of problem.

I am talking about The Third Gender (Hijra) people who turn into Robbers.

A few days ago I was at home (luckily) and was taking a nap. I heard my wife screaming (I will give you money, just wait, please wait outside my babies are crying, please stay out of the door) holding the door! I rushed into the main door seeing my elder girl and my wife pushing the door to close it and someone from outside trying to come inside our flat!

It was sudden and I had no idea what to do! Rushing into the door and helping to close it but one of their men/women block the door with his/her leg. I was trying to convince them and honestly, I had a little amount of money in my wallet due by the end of the month. They were not ready to listen to anything saying the money regarding the birth of my young kid, who was two years old! My kid was not newly born but they were not listing to me and telling me many things with threats. However after 10 minutes of argument and showing them my wallet they asked me to manage money for them! Demanding at least 3K!

I found no option and asked them to move as my kids were crying with fear! I went downstairs with them and found 11 of them! Isn't it a Robbery ! Four of them came to my flat and another 7/8 were seating near the caretaker's room, our caretaker said they push him and shove & punched him in the chest! The caretaker is a patient with cancer. I have managed TK 1K from a shop nearby and they left! No one come to support me as they knew how dangerous those people become if something does not go as they want. During leaving they again threaten the caretaker who was just doing his duty.

Today again they came demanding Eid bonus and threatened our caretaker as he did not open the gate so that they cannot enter the building! Screaming, swearing including threatening nothing good was there, this time our landlord went downstairs and give them TK1K. They were not ready to leave and the Block security was standing only.

পুলিশের সামনেই প্রকাশ্যে হিজড়াদের চাঁদাবাজিতে অতিষ্ট রাজধানিবাসি। হিজড়াদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর কাছে অভিযোগ করেও কোনো সুফল পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না, যে কারণে তারা আরো বেপরোয়া হয়ে উঠছে। পক্ষান্তরে, বিপদে পড়তে হচ্ছে সাধারণ মানুষকে। বিভিন্ন ব্যবসাপ্রতিষ্ঠান, বাসাবাড়ি থেকে হিজড়াদের টাকা তোলা নতুন কিছু নয়। বছরের পর বছর ধরে হিজড়ারা টাকা তোলার এই রীতি চলে আসছে। মানুষও সাধ্যমতো তাদের টাকা ও বিভিন্ন মালামাল দিয়ে সহযোগিতা করে আসছে। কিন্তু গত কয়েক বছর হিজড়াদের আচরণ বদলে গেছে।
পাল্টে গেছে তাদের টাকা চাওয়ার ধরনও। আগের দিনের সেই টাকা তোলা এখন চাঁদা আদায়ে পরিণত হয়েছে। রাস্তাঘাট, বাসাবাড়ি, দোকানপাট যেখানে-সেখানে মানুষকে টাকার জন্য নাজেহাল করছে। চাঁদার জন্য মানুষকে জিম্মি করে ফেলা হচ্ছে। ইদানিং তাদের উৎপাত অনেক বেড়ে গেছে।reference

Each day people face these incidences and no one watching them! My cordial request to the authority, please take care of this matter before it is too late. Their act at my home is not less than a robber! I do not know what could happen if I was not at home at that time! Only my kids and wife were at home, I don't want to think further!

I personally had a very soft corner for these people as they are unwanted in the society and they had no choice but to ask for money from general people as no one gives them a job and family left them forever.

I promised myself last time I will not give them any money onward! Each day during going to the office they get on the bus and I always gave them TK10 which will be stopped forever.
It is time to response and Authority should take proper action to ensure public safety besides, it is already too late to ensure employments for disadvantaged people.

Shame on them, who demand money forcefully.
