Plaza Norte Craft Fair, a cultural piece of Peru
On the outskirts of the land terminal of the Plaza Norte Shopping Center is a place where tourists who have just arrived in the great city of Lima, can begin to familiarize themselves with the rich culture of this country. It is true that it is located in a rather urban place, but they have managed very well to maintain the rural style that characterizes the different provinces from which most of these beautiful and fascinating handicrafts come from or are created.
Speaking of the characteristics or structure of this fair, you can see in the previous photo that it is made up of fairly simple stalls made of wood and terracotta-colored roofs quite nice, I think this is what creates the atmosphere that gives the impression that we are not in the center of Lima with an unbearable noise and large masses of people, but rather in a peaceful rural place.
En las afueras del terminal terrestre del Centro Comercial Plaza Norte se encuentra un lugar en el que los turistas que recién llegan a la gran ciudad de Lima, pueden empezar a familiarizaste con la rica cultura de este país. Es cierto que está ubicado en un lugar bastante urbano, pero se las han arreglado muy bien para mantener el estilo rural que caracteriza a las diferentes provincias de las cuales provienen o son creadas la mayoría de estos hermosos y fascinantes elementos artesanales.
Hablando de las características o estructura de esta feria, pueden ver en la foto anterior que esta conformado por puestos bastante simples armados en madera y con techos de color terracota bastante agradables, creo que esto es lo que genera ese ambiente que da la impresión de que no nos encontramos en pleno centro de Lima con un insoportable ruido y grandes masas de personas, sino mas bien en un apacible lugar rural.
The strong proposal of this fair is composed of handcrafted elements of fabric and leather such as hats, handbags, purses, purses, scarves, warmers, dolls, stuffed animals, gloves and souvenirs allusive to the Peruvian culture. We can also find jewelry made of steel, gold, silver and others; in addition, we can find the Siku which is a typical musical instrument of this region. While we walked around and saw these beautiful handicrafts we could notice that the quality of these products is quite high, the finish is almost perfect and the prices are not so high.
La propuesta fuerte de esta feria esta compuesta elementos artesanales de tela y cuero como gorros, carteras, bolsos, monederos, bufandas, calentadores, muñecas, peluches, guantes y recuerdos alusivos a la cultura peruana. También podemos encontrar bisutería de acero, oro, plata y otros; además, podemos encontrar el Siku que es un instrumento musical típico de esta región. Mientras paseábamos y veíamos estas hermosas artesanías pudimos notar que la calidad de estos productos es bastante alta, el acabado es casi perfecto y los precios no son tan altos.
In the following photos you can see some traditional hats, winter scarves and other garments ideal to cover us from the hot summer sun which we must say is quite embracing.
En las siguientes fotos podrán observar algunos sombreros tradicionales, bufandas invernales entre otras prendas ideales para cubrirnos del ardiente sol del verano el cual debemos decir que es bastante abrazador.
In this place we not only find handicrafts, there is also a great offer of sweets, cookies and traditional snacks of Peru within which I want to highlight the nougats and donuts, they are undoubtedly our favorite, they have the perfect amount of sugar and are usually very soft, totally ideal to share with a good cup of coffee. Additionally we can find alfajores arequipeños, dulce de leche and products made with rice and puffed corn, all highly recommended.
En este lugar no solo encontramos artesanías, también hay una gran oferta de golosinas, galletas y snacks tradicionales del Perú dentro de los cuales quiero destacar los turrones y las rosquillas, son sin dudas nuestras favoritas, tienen la cantidad perfecta de azúcar y suelen ser muy suaves, totalmente ideales para compartir con una buena taza de café. Adicionalmente podemos encontrar alfajores arequipeños, dulce de leche y productos hechos con arroz y maíz inflado, todo muy recomendable.
We hope you enjoyed this little walk through the Craft Fair of Plaza Norte, it is a place we visit quite often as we usually go to this mall to walk, go to the movies or to eat. Les confieso que las últimas fotos me aguaron la boca jajajajaja, tengo tiempo de no probar dulces de ese calibre que son todo un deleite y que compartimos en varios países como parte de la tradición en cuanto a gastronomía se refiere 😍!!!!
Ahora bien, de pana están bien bonitos y estructurados los puestos de venta, ciertamente brindan un ambiente agradable en medio de la metrópolis y su variedad de productos es alucinante, me encantaron sobre todo los sombreros que pude apreciar 🔥🔥🔥!!!
Por otro lado, el punto fuerte de lo que se capta visualmente son las artesanías; esos trabajos que contienen tejidos a mano son increíbles, en eso los hermanos peruanos siempre han sido asombrosos 💖!!!

I confess that the last pictures made my mouth water hahahahaha, I have been a long time since I tried sweets of that caliber that are a delight and that we share in several countries as part of the tradition in terms of gastronomy 😍!!!!
Now, the stalls are very nice and well structured, they certainly provide a pleasant atmosphere in the middle of the metropolis and the variety of products is amazing, I especially loved the hats that I could appreciate 🔥🔥🔥!!!
On the other hand, the strong point of what is visually captured are the handicrafts; those works that contain hand woven fabrics are incredible, in that the Peruvian brothers have always been amazing 💖!!!!!

Tienes que probar alguna vez lo turrones peruanos, son una cosa completamente diferente a los que conoces, estos están hechos al horno como si fueran una especie de galleta y contienen además caramelo, ajonjolí, entre otras cosas que van a depender de la variedad.
Y si, se nota el nivel en el tejido de esas prendas tradicionales, los detalles y el acabado son super profesionales y dignos de una cultura milenaria.
Nos alegra haber podido transmitir las vibras de este pequeño rincón en pleno centro de esta metrópolis. Un abrazo!!!

What a great market! It is not often we get to Peru and you have made this cultural experience so exciting with the food, the woven fabrics, the hats, and the jewelry. I was happy to get a first-class tour with in-depth information.
What did you buy there? Were the prices good or expensive? The tourist trade can go either way.

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.
