Russland Bier im Doppel / Russia beer in double 😎🍻

Wer weiß schon wie lange die Versorgung des Russen Laden im Städtchen Lagos noch gewährleistet ist, dachte ich mir und machte mich sicherheitshalber auf den Weg in die Stadt.
Die freundliche Ukrainerin im Geschäft versuchte mich zu beruhigen, es sei doch alles nur ein großes Theaterstück was da in ihrer alten Heimat aufgeführt wird und Sie mache sich keine großen Sorgen das es zu ernsthaften Auseinandersetzungen kommt.
Ich verzichtete darauf die gute Frau mit meinen Ansichten zur aktuellen Lage zu verunsichern und marschierte stattdessen schnurstracks auf den mir sehr gut bekannten Kühlschrank zu, in dem sich noch immer einige mir unbekannte Biere befanden.
So auch die zwei Exemplare welche ich euch heute zu @detlevs, sage und schreibe 242. BeerSaturday vorstellen möchte.

Who knows how long the supply of the Russian store in the town of Lagos is still guaranteed, I thought to myself and made my way to the city to be on the safe side.
The friendly Ukrainian woman in the store tried to reassure me that it was all just a big play being staged in her old homeland and that she wasn't too worried about any serious conflicts.
I renounced to unsettle the good woman with my views on the current situation and marched instead straight to the me very well-known refrigerator, in which still some beers unknown to me were.
So also the two exemplars which I would like to present to you today to @detlevs, say and write 242. BeerSaturday.

Beim Versuch herauszukriegen mit welcher Art von Bier ich es bei dieser hübsch anzusehenden, bauchigen Flasche zu tun hatte, wäre ich ohne den in Deutsch verfassten Absatz auf dem Etikett, aufgeschmissen gewesen. Mit Entsetzen stellte ich fest, das meine Russisch Kenntnisse sich immer mehr verflüchtigen und ich teils schon Probleme damit habe die mir einst geläufige Schrift zu lesen.

Trying to figure out what kind of beer I was dealing with in this pretty-looking, bulbous bottle, I would have been lost without the l paragraph written in German. With horror, I noticed that my Russian knowledge is evaporating more and more and I partly already have problems reading the once familiar writing.

Spielt am Ende aber keine Rolle, solange die Geschmacksnerven noch funktionieren und die Augen erkennen was sich da ins Glas ergießt, steht dem Genuss doch nichts entgegen.
Optisch verhielt sich das Helle im Glas recht unauffällig, vermochte nicht vollends zu begeistern, ließ einen aber auch nicht kopfschüttelnd vor Entsetzen zurück.

But in the end, it does not matter, as long as the taste buds still work and the eyes recognize what pours into the glass, nothing stands in the way of enjoyment.
Visually, the lager in the glass behaved quite inconspicuously, was not able to inspire, but also did not leave you shaking your head in disgust.

Dasselbe gilt für den Geschmack, ein unaufdringliches erfrischendes, etwas wässriges Bierchen, was gut herunterläuft, einen aber nicht zum Freudentanz animiert und den Wunsch verspüren lässt gleich noch eins davon hinterher zu kippen.
Kann man machen, verpasst aber auch nichts wenn man es sein lässt.

The same applies to the taste, an unobtrusive refreshing, somewhat watery beer, which runs down well, but does not animate you to do the dance of joy and make you want to tip another one right after it.
You can do that, but you don't miss anything if you don't.

Das Baltika Bier, welches mit 4,5% Vol/Alc nur unwesentlich kräftiger ist als sein heller Bruder, sorgte da schon für etwas mehr Aufregung.

The Baltika beer, which at 4.5% Vol/Alc is only slightly stronger than its lighter brother, caused a bit more excitement.

Der dunkle Teint steht ihm sehr gut und auch das stabile Krönchen erfreut das Auge des Betrachters.
Der sehr malzige, leicht süßliche Geschmack weiß zu gefallen und so reiht sich auch dieses Bier der Baltika Brauerei, welche mittlerweile zur Carslsberg Gruppe gehört, ohne Probleme ein, in die größtenteils hervorragende Produktpalette des Leningrader Brauhauses.
Auch wenn ich mir ein wenig mehr Hopfen im Abgang gewünscht hätte, wusste dieses Tröpfchen trotzdem voll zu überzeugen. Mir hat es sehr gut geschmeckt.

The dark complexion suits it very well and the sturdy crown is also pleasing to the eye.
The very malty, slightly sweet taste is pleasing, and this beer from the Baltika Brewery, which is now part of the Carlsberg Group, easily joins the largely outstanding product range of the Leningrad brewery.
Even though I would have liked a little more hops in the finish, this droplet still knew how to fully convince. It tasted very good to me.
