Summer is the time for sports in the Philippines. The Sangguniang Kabataan or Youth Federation initiates this kind of activity for the youth aged 15 to 20 years old. Most Brgy.s' or a small village in the town hosted this kind of event. Not sure of the history but upon understanding this happens the benefits the youths love sports and stay away from vices. For example, to avoid every youth entering into drug addiction or criminal events.

Though as time passed by it became part of entertainment every Summer when most people go home to have a vacation. That's why the summer basketball league is not just for the youth but also the adults. Our Brgy. is not like the other Brgy.s' that loves entertainment. There's no guarantee other Brgy.s' do the same but still, only a few of them don't have an event like this. To help you understand more about basketball, how about more information about it.

There are categories in which the players are allowed to play. Of course, the players should not be mixed playing basketball. There should be an age limit for every category where the game of each team can be fair. So there are 5 categories or 5 divisions.

The Adults are separated into two divisions, the 45 uppers. From the name division itself, you can tell the ages who are allowed in this division.

The Seniors division is strict with the players who can join. From the age of 25 to above or 44 are only who can play in this division. There are others who are 45 plus who can still play if they want to play a basketball game with more enjoyment but 25 below will not be allowed of course. Those players who age like that are more energetic and we should avoid that since we are not professional basketball players.

If you want to see a good game don't miss the junior division. This division is where the players are really good at playing. You can witness good moves like dribbling, shooting, and many more. They are young and their bodies are fit to play this game. From the age of 16 to 24 are allowed to play in this division. This is the most intense game and most-watched of the division.

If you want to see the fun like just to kill time. You should watch the two divisions of the children. The mini-midget division from the age of 8 to 12 is allowed to play in this game. Then the midget division from the age of 13 to 15 is allowed to play this game too. Well, not to expect much about the plays but just to enjoy time watching these children play.

We don't have a covered basketball court yet or a gymnasium yet because of short budgets in our Brgy. That's why the basketball game will start at noon from 2 pm until 5 pm. It will resume in the evening at 7:30 pm until 10 pm. If the weather is fine or the rain will not interfere there will always be a basketball game during these hours.

Now, who will be bored during summer when you can have fun by just watching many more entertaining activities. Basketball is just one of them since the festive in our Brgy. is near. There is more to come but for now, it's just a basketball league as the preparation of the entertainment in our Brgy.
