Friends, relatives, someone you knew, or just strangers are all invited to come who celebrate the festival. Why so? Of course, there is food, drinks, and gatherings with friends to have fun. Filipinos love this celebration that even having debt will be alright as long as there is something to serve. It happens once a year so some houses celebrate it with no hesitation even though they will be out of budget later. This is the biggest occasion for us after all.

One of the festivals that are very popular in the Philippines is Sinulog in Cebu City. Though not all festivals are celebrated like that, they still celebrate it with food and some other varieties. I've been living in the province and this is the way we celebrate festivals in our place. Early in the morning, the preparation to cook food happens. If there's a pig being raised for sure it will be butchered during this day. When there will be early visitors they'd be offered grilled food while waiting. When waiting there will be liquors to drink as well to complete the fun of the celebration.

Usually, the serving of food happens after the mass. Each house will make sure to cook all the food when the mass is finished. Sorry but we are all aware of it and the visitors should wait. Though they will not be waiting to not do anything because as I said there will be liquors to serve as well and the fun will still happen.

Some houses are not ready to celebrate but it's fine as long as there will be food to serve. Either a huge feast or just a small one, what is important is there is something to serve to visitors that people will not be disappointed in coming. Just like what happened at my friend's house yesterday celebrating the festival. It's not their real house because they're living next to the corner or should I say the same place where I'm currently living. However, they have a house on the hillside because long ago they lived here.

We were invited by them with friends as well but they didn't expect other people to come by. They didn't serve much food because they were not ready for it but at least they didn't let a single person starve. All of us filled our stomachs and at the same time, some went home drunk. It's not about the food that matters anyway but the quality time occurred because of the festival. That's what this celebration is all about anyway, to be happy and have fun.
