When you push yourself too much - Mental health risks!

People say life is a competition. You always have to stay ahead, you need to achieve, you need to be successful, you have to prove yourself.

I say, take a break!

I know, you are freaking out seeing what I just told you. Well, let me explain a little more.

I never oppose getting success. I also believe being in the game of achievement is a great thing. But don't you think we are rushing too much and missing out on life in all of this?

Mental health issues are getting common day by day. And do you think, it's automatic? Our lifestyle, perspective, thought process doesn't have any connection with it? I guess, not.

There's no way to argue that we rush too much, we forget to take a break, notice the small things in life, embrace the little happiness around us. And as a result, we produce too much stress, anxiety and this leads to getting depression. Not only that, we become less excited about life, we miss out, we forget to celebrate for little things.

The problem never arises if you learn how to balance life and work. But for most of us, it's quite difficult. And that's why we face so many mental health issues these days.

I would say, don't push yourself too much. Yeah, there's no limit, you can be very successful by working hard. There's no conflict in working hard and enjoying life. Try to find the balance, don't let yourself out from this 'trying'.

Otherwise, you will also complain the same as others about life. Work hard but don't miss out on life!

I get the "...life is a competition" part but taking a break is also important because you need to stay healthy generally to be able to live life in the first place.
Mental health issue is on the rise and the more serious we take it the better for us. Many atimes our bodies give us signs too,so we need not ignore them. Like I am doing presently -resting from work loads and all.
Health is wealth.
Thanks @mrhaldar for this short, yet precise write -up!

That’s absolutely true, living a successful life is all about balance. It’s particularly true that we need to take breaks and have fun in order to preserve our mental health. Thank you for posting in the EcoTrain

Most people push themselves too much and sacrifice their health just to make ends meet. Taking a break once in a while helps to energize us to even face better things to come.

It wouldn´t be good seeing we´ve knocked ourselves down due to too much pushing because we want to make success at all cost forgetting that we need time for ourselves. Life is all about balancing to have more time for ourselves so we don´t end up treating ourselves with what we have achieved. Thank you for sharing.
