August Visitor: Scholar and Scribe, Meet Me Officially.

Designed @ canva.com

Welcome to a new month y'all. July was quite an interesting month with Dreemport (it's always exciting to be here though) and the Ecency #Lovelution challenge and now, a new chapter is opened with Scholar and Scribe. I think it's going to be crazy fun.

Let me begin to tell you that I really don't do dessert 🤣🤣🤣. That's funny right. It doesn't count for me. I just do my meals as a proper African man. I think dessert is an imported idea though people have testified how beneficial it is to our nutrition.

And talking about chocolates, it's for kids (Please, don't take offence. I am just being me). Maybe I never get the chance to explore the great taste and value of the different flavours of chocolates. I just don't do sugar and in fear that my dentition may be at risk after taking chocolate.

Even though I have been here before this challenge, I would like you guys to meet me. You know, I never got to introduce myself before now. Permit me therefore to be as brief as possible.

I am @mrenglish. A Nigerian and teacher of history. I love to write fiction and I love to meet people irrespective of gender or status.

As a matter of this inaugural post for the challenge. The following answers from customised questions will help you know me better.

How Long Have I Been On Hive?

I joined Hive in April 2021. So, I have been here for fifteen months. It may seem like several years because of the memories, activities and the schools I had to attend to be a better user of this platform. In a nutshell, it's been a year and three months and still counting.

I have no regrets finding Hive only recently. My experiences elsewhere are just a schooling ground, to prepare me for the challenge I had to face here on Hive. It has been very enterprising to be here to say the least. Like they say, we learn everyday. This place is another phase of learning, and I am learning pretty well.

Have You Ever Written Fiction?

Yeah. I write fiction. Writing diction helps me to expand my horizons. To be able to write an attractive fiction, one may have to bring to book past experiences, then add some imagination which becomes salt and pepper to what picture you want to paint.

To keep your readers glued to your blog, one must write stories with zeal and creativity. That's how you command the literary space where people crave for your work. Though I may not be where I want to be in writing fictional but I am not where I used to be.

Are You Familiar With Scholar and Scribe?

In my quest to keep writing fiction, I found that there are not too many communities on Hive where you can do that, so it was easy to locate Scholar and Scribe.

I am familiar with this community.

Are you expecting this to be a fun challenge, challenging challenge, exciting challenge, or are you really dreading writing publicly?

It is in fun that truth is found. I am going to have fun as Intake this very seriously. It is going to be for me an opportunity of Challenging challenge. When challenges like this are made, you can find strength in it by going out of your convenience to give it your best shot. That's what I intend to do with this.

Are you going to TRY to go for the 3 part serial fiction (over 3 weeks), the engagement Bingo option, simply stick to SOME fiction this month for Scholar&Scribe, or some other option altogether?

Doing serial fiction for me is going to be a challenge for me but I have been longing to see myself doing the twist part In story writing.

Now that the opportunity is here, why won't I take it?

Josh Hild

The three part serial fiction would be great, I think. And to create such a piece would demand that I spread my tentacles as I add more twists that would make you yearn for more 🤣😂🤣.

Haha just don't make us crying for a part two in the same week before the supposed next week when you're supposed to share the part two 😂 you know what I mean right?

No too much suspense, I could cry! 😅

Well, it's nice knowing that you don't do sugar 😏😂 good for you, maybe you'll teach us how to reduce our sugar intake 😝

Have fun with this challenge, you've got this Fiction writer ❤️

@mrenglish ! Consider this your formal welcome to Scholar and Scribe ! Even though I've seen you around the block for a while now. 😀

Dude, I get you. I was a desert junkie when I was younger. It got to the point where I got so burnt out on artificial sugar that I now only eat it sparingly. Like, I'll have half a slice of cake. 😁

As for serialized writing, that's the whole point of a challenge right? 💪 I'm sure this contest will open new horizons in your writing journey. 👏

This is coming from a great African man, we prefer good meals but somehow, I fell in love with cakes and I have been addicted to them for a while.

I know you to be one of the great fiction writers on the platform, you have been consistent and that awesome.

I love your honesty, it's really nice.

It's a good thing you love fiction, I guess you will have just little problem getting a series fiction out, all the best Sir.
