A Change Of Plan: From Picnic To Photography.

Happy sunny and cold weekend. Today started off promising to be sunny with the early morning brightness of the sky. Before 10:00 am, the sun radiated and we washed our clothes expecting them to dry in few hours. The washing in itself was somewhat easy as the washing helped out a great deal since the national grid of power supply was on. What gave us a tough time was rinsing the clothes but we concluded in no time. Before 12:00 noon, we had spread the clothes on the drying lines.

I supported my wife all through so that the work will be fast and so we could go out to have our hair cut, then to the waterfront to catch some weekend fun.
As we prepared to go for hair cutting, it became cloudy, that's about an hour after we had sun dry the clothes. Then, it started storming. Wild breeze. I had to run to remove the clothes from the line. My wife joined in so the rain does not meet me there.

A little while after we had removed the clothes from the line, the storm subsided and the sun came back again.

Weather is so unpredictable. Since we already removed the clothes from the line, we weren't going to take them back there again. So, the next agenda is to be completed.

While I took my clipper and trekked to the barber's shop, the rain let loose without any signal. It rained uncontrollably for over two hours. It rained heavily. I just remained in one spot at the barber's shop snapping everything that passes by on the road.

This motorcyclist, money must be made, come rain, come shine. You can see him putting on a yellow raincoat, typical of Julius Berger construction workers.

Fast-moving vehicle gave me a torment taking a shot. The car is carrying confetti meaning it is designed for a wedding. The rain must have disturbed the wedding ceremonies. In my thought.

Sooner than the rain had subsided, I decided to walk back home. Our tour to the waterfront is already a forgone issue no doubt. In my quest searching for what to post after my series of photographing, I found this sunflower, fragile yet beautiful.

Looking up in the sky, I saw another beauty of nature, the rainbow. Wow ❗ It's so crystal clear and beautiful. Have you ever seen a rainbow?
The Biblical story behind the rainbow. How God had destroyed the world with water during the time of Noah. It rained for forty days and nights, the while earth was washed away by the heavy currents of flood. This was due to the continuous sinful nature of man. God regretted creating man because despite all the warning from Gid, men were still unrepentant. After the flood, God made a Covenant never to destroy the world with rain or water again. And the rainbow was to be a seal of the covenant.

This is a new chapter of the learning process in life. Perhaps, God wanted to teach me a lesson. Or maybe He wanted to remind us of the imminent pain that comes with living a sinful life in a sinful world.

•All other images are mine.

Thank you for visiting my blog and have a memorable weekend.

Taking photos of moving cars is always a challenge

Seeing a rainbow is always so cool

Can I relate to this situation 😁

I had to run to remove the clothes from the line

Good to know that you care enough supportive of your family.
About the rainbow story it's unique for me to know but can I correct something: the last paragraphs needed some editing from Gid to God.
Interacted with you through @dreemport.

Change of plan.. 😂😂 At least you judiciously spent the time..

Weather is quite unpredictable in Southern Nigeria. @dreemport brought me here.

You all upcoming photographers need some lessons from @tattoodjay. He is the best I have seen on this chain.

Nice shots and storytelling nevertheless

ha ha isn't the weather a funny old thing? I tend to do the lazy thing here in England and dry everything indoors using rails and a dehumidifier. It seems that the only time one can rely on some good weather for clothes drying outside is in the summer anyway. I think it's lovely that you and your wife work so wonderfully in partnership on the "chores"😍 I can relate to the incessant rain that you had as we experienced an absolute deluge the other evening. I was with a friend, my son, and her son, coming back from a secondary school open evening and the heavens opened. It was like a wall of water and we couldn't see more than a few cars in front of us so had to drive back home very carefully. Rainbows always bring such beauty and hope to the world. I'm glad you were blessed with one on that day. i came to your post via @dreemport
