My entry to today's monomad challenge, creating analog photography style, Did I make it?
La creatividad es algo espontaneo, así como me gusta hacer mis fotografías, sin nada planeado, simplemente llego al lugar al que tengo en mente y comienzo a hacer mis fotografías, algunas veces sí tengo en mente el lugar al que quiero ir, pero casi nunca tengo planeada alguna composición, ayer por la noche me dieron ganas de salir a hacer fotografías y este fue el resultado.
Creativity is something spontaneous, just as I like to take my pictures, without anything planned, I just get to the place I have in mind and start taking my pictures, sometimes I do have in mind the place I want to go, but I almost never have any composition planned, last night I felt like going out to take pictures and this was the result.
Ya he mencionado que tengo en mente cambiar mi estilo fotográfico, me gustaría crear imágenes con un estilo análogo y eso es un punto a mi favor ya que no me tengo que preocupar por reducir demasiado el ruido ISO, de hecho dejo que suba al hacer las fotografías, sinceramente nunca he tenido miedo de dejar subir el ISO en mis fotografías, realmente creo que prefiero una foto con ruido a no tener la fotografía que he visualizado en ese momento.
I have already mentioned that I have in mind to change my photographic style, I would like to create images with an analog style and that is a point in my favor since I don't have to worry about reducing the ISO noise too much, in fact I let it go up when taking the pictures, honestly I have never been afraid to let the ISO go up in my pictures, I really think I prefer a picture with some noise than not having the picture I have visualized at that moment.
En esta ocasión me fui a una zona llamada Mololoa, está junto al río que lleva ese mismo nombre, y es una zona un poco peligrosa a pesar de estar a unos cuantos metros del centro de la ciudad, en esta zona podemos encontrar de todo tipo de personas, desde las que andan de compras hasta los indigentes y drogadictos que viven en las calles y forman parte de un grupo que desde siempre se conoció como "El escuadrón de la muerte", así que aunque llevaba todo mi equipo la verdad es que hice las fotografías a mano alzada utilizando el lente 24mm de Canon.
This time I went to an area called Mololoa, it is next to the river that bears the same name, and is a somewhat dangerous area despite being a few meters from the city center, in this area we can find all kinds of people, from those who go shopping to the homeless and drug addicts who live on the streets and are part of a group that has always been known as "The death squad", so although I had all my gear the truth is that I took the pictures handheld using the Canon 24mm lens.
He dejado los datos técnicos debajo de cada fotografía para que puedan ver las características de cada toma, espero que eso pueda ayudar a comprender el uso que le doy a mi cámara, y como les digo, mi idea es crear algo con estilo análogo donde la sensibilidad ISO solía ser un poco elevada, en serio, que no les dé miedo el ruido digital.
I have left the technical data below each photograph so you can see the details of each shot, I hope that can help you understand how I use my camera, and as I tell you, my idea is to create something with analog style where the ISO sensitivity used to be a little high, seriously, don't be afraid of digital noise.
En esta última fotografía quería capturar el movimiento del ciclista, y si observan disparé a una velocidad de 1/20 a mano alzada, es una locura lo que podemos hacer con las cámaras mirrorless como la Canon M50 y un buen lente angular como es el 24mm, que aunque en formato de 35mm sería 38mm por el factor de recorte de 1.6 de Canon, aún sigue siendo una distancia focal bastante angular.
In this last picture I wanted to capture the motion of the cyclist, and if you notice I shot at a speed of 1/20 handheld, it's crazy what we can do with mirrorless cameras like the Canon M50 and a good wide angle lens like the 24mm, which although in 35mm format would be 38mm because of Canon's 1.6 crop factor, it's still a pretty wide focal length.
