Always a pleasure.
You should actually be seen as an example by others.
We muted few of your earlier publications, and instead of getting angry or upset at us, you obviously decided to learn from it and evolve your skills.
So here we are, with you deservedly being featured in one of our selections.
Well done 💪

Oh. Oh ummm really? which one did you mute and why?

No-one told me...

I only noticed one that was muted but had no idea who did it and why...

So I can find out what I did wrong...

Ok well I definitely see fuzzy focus on the photos that I clearly stated that I shot on an old iphone back in 2010 with the animals at the zoo, And I think that the giraffe looks freakin fantastic myself in B&W.

but what was wrong with this one of abstract images which were only taken a few weeks ago https://peakd.com/hive-142159/@chociscorpipro/this-is-my-entry-for-the-monomad-challenge-abstract-unique-random-and-unusual-in-bandw

And then the stylised trees on this one https://peakd.com/hive-142159/@chociscorpipro/this-is-my-entry-for-the-monomad-challenge-looking-up-the-skirts-of-trees-an-abstract-view

Why is there a need to actually mute the posts, essentially censoring them on a supposedly proudly non-censoring platform if this is just a friendly contest?

Why mute them instead of just ignoring them and letting the other users choose whether they like them and want to upvote them, after all beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I think you're overreacting a little bit.
Do you actually know what censorship is?

Your posts weren't censored, they were muted.
You didn't even notice as you stated above, and they are still visible in every front end.
How is that censorship?

Muting is part of something called moderation.
Unfortunately a necessary "evil" to keep the community feed attractive and not full of low quality publications dropped by users who simply come after the rewards (and before you pick on this let me tell straightforward that no, I don't think you belong to this user category).

If we simply ignore those low quality publications and let them be, our feed, instead of being a pleasure to look at, would become a garbage can where no one would like to post in and be associated with. The community would become what others want it to be and not what we want it to be.
Moderation is one of the main reasons why the communities were introduced in Hive and the mute option is part of that. It's coded that way and the code is law, like it or not.

Regarding those publications you highlighted there:
In the first one you have 2 out of focus images (1 & 4) and 3 overexposed/burned ones (2,3 &5).
In the second one there's exactly the same issues. All out of focus and overexposed, aggravated by the fact that you overedited it trying to disguise those flaws.

You shouldn't be proud of those images.
You should yes be proud of the obvious improvement your photography shows presently, and that's exactly what I tried to highlight with my initial comment.
I am sorry that you took it in a completely different way. It was suppose to be a dose of constructive criticism.
Having and posting few bad images is nothing to be ashamed of, it's part of our growth. I did it myself.
Everyone does it at some point.

Ok fair call.
It just would have been nice to have heads up with a reason to learn from.

Hi, I am interested in knowing exactly what the theme of the contest will be...? Something specific to photograph or just anything nice that can capture our attention and that the photo is taken in black and white?

Hello @purrix
You can enter the contest with any subject you want, as long it is black and white.
We do not have daily topics 🙂
