Weeding our Groundnuts Farm, an experience of a massive growth progress of the nuts.
Hello Hive

It's a beautiful new day and we are grateful for the gift of life. I really wish that I can sleep a little more as the daily load of stress keeps accumulating in my body, but this season will soon be over. Especially with one of the most difficult tasks that has to to with transplanting rice. That will soon be over as we are trying our best to wrap up that activities before the months of September comes around fully. Our rice planting this year is coming really late, in the previous years we would have been done with all these activities by now.

While in the midst of all these we have to still buy time to clear out our Groundnuts fields. Taking care of the crops that have produced really well should be an important priority at this stage rather than planting what is looking a little hopeless.

Our groundnuts have produced really well this year and this is the first time we would be weeding it. We have applied some weed control herbicides before planting the nuts and this has been one of the reasons why there has not been any rapid growth of grasses that could have bothered the nuts at the early stages of their growth.

Now that the nuts are already in their second flowering stage, we should be able to see some riped nuts in about a month here. And as the nuts are at the stage if growth and doing really well, we had to prioritize the weeding to keep the farm as clean as possible so that the nuts can have the maximum growth required.

Majority of the grasses in the farm here are carpert grasses, a bit difficult to weed out as the have wound themselves around the plants and each time you try to pull them out you end up uprooting the groundnut plants alongside.
We spent some quality time weeding until we got exhausted for the day and had to retire home. Everyday is a day for more work during this season, soon it will be back to back harvest and then we can have more time to rest at home.
