Happy Sunday to us all, Sundays are often beautiful days for us as the day is meant for total rest. We take time to rest from all the activities we have done in the farm for the week. During the weekdays it is difficult to get some quality rest such that even when we set our bodies to get some and we make a decision to stay at home without going to our work for a day we will not be able to rest well because our minds will still be roaming about the series of activities available to be done at the farm and how we will have accomplish one thing or the other. Everyone is always on their toes during every farming season like this because every seconds count. If you miss the timing for growing one crop we won't be able to grow such crops again.

For instance now, at the most we are meant to complete the planting/transplanting of our rice crops in this month of August, anything that passes this month of August and we are still not done whatever that is planted after this month may not produce well.

Yesterday we were at the farm again and I was spraying the remaining portions of our farm with with herbicides, the herbicides we have bought and used the other day didn't cover the entire field. While we are waiting for these herbicides to work very fast so that we can continue with transplanting rice in these places I got some more herbicides from the store to spray the remaining portions of the farm that is left. That took me about 3hours to complete.

From here I moved to the potatoes farm to check on the growth progress of the potatoes. Ever since we have completed the weeding of grasses from these potatoes I haven't been there to check on them.
Amazingly the potatoes have spread and covered the ground much as they are cover crops, taking out grasses from them gave them enough space to grow fast and cover the ground.

These potatoes should take not more than 4months before they produce something for us to harvest.
From here again I went on to check on the other farms where we have some labourers who are actively cultivating the land for us to plant other crops. We are yet to plant beans, sorghum and more corns as desired. Some of these laborers may not do a nice job if one is not around the farm to monitor them.

This portion of the farm will be used for planting beans and sorghum. Although this is not the best time for planting sorghum. Sorghum are best planted in the early days of the month of July, if one does not have the time or land space to plant them by then we can also grow them in nursery just like a typical rice crops is grown in nursery and right after cultivation like this we can just transplant sorghum seedlings directly into the farm.
