Join me in transplanting Sorghum
Hello Hive
Every year we plant sorghum as one of the importance cereals we grow. This Sorghum is used for variety of purpose and most especially as breakfast meal in my country. In the very same way people drink tea in other places, we use our sorghum go make Pap in the morning. Pap is a hot drink taken for breakfast and typically one of the semi solid food that is first introduced go babies at their early stage of life growth right after breastfeeding.
Aside this we also use sorghum to make another kind of drink called gruwel, think about this as someone drinking Soya milk drink or something like that. And then again we also use Sorghum to prepare another solid food just like Semovita. Sorghum seams to be a richer cereal than corn and some people people sorghum meals to corn.

Rice plants are a little bit more fragile than Sorghum and like I mentioned earlier the timing for planting most of our crops is far been spent while the rain has consistently delayed in coming. The drought is getting severe now that most crops are not able to cope anymore. The situation is really bad.

While we are waiting to start transplanting our rice grains, we decided to transplant Sorghum first since sorghum will survive better in dryer condition than rice. It is a must to plant rice in a very much wet ground that is covered in enough water but for sorghum any slight available of water will make it survive. Rice plants can still be planted or transplanted even till the very last day in the month of August but for sorghum once this month is past yiu cannot plant or transplant them again as there is no possibility that they will do well.

The Sorghum farm is a bit close to a riverine area and in any case the rains decided to delay further we can decided to manually wet the crops to help it survive.
The rains will surely come later and in full force but the challenge remains now that we have to do everything possible to keep the crops alive till that period.

Yesterday I showed us how majority of the rice we have planted has now withered off.
