Finally made my first corset blouse // Diy of the process

Hello Hive

img_1642133166605.jpg

And finally I got to make my first ever corset blouse.
It wasn't that difficult like I was scared of it and often felt that I can't make some designs.

My first ever trial of it isn't too bad at all and its probably because I was rightly taught and guided by my boss, nevertheless I still make some mistakes even after a design tutorial but with this I had fun sewing it.

For a long time I had this in mind but kept procrastinating until I wanted to make this for Christmas and it still didn't meet up.

Then I decided to relax and make the outfit at whatever pace, today I have the finished look.

Starting from my pattern here

To the cutting and sewing.

And finally a corset blouse with net yoke.

I added a 720°flair to add to the fullness of my peplum.

I didn't have much problems making this, but having sleeve inspiration to complete my outfits has often been the problem.

Something I have friends here make awesome suggestion for me which always comes out nice.

Alongside my blouse I made a 6piece matching panel skirt and have them all together.
Am only left with the sleeve part as usual. 😂😂
What do you think of my blouse.

And lest I forget this is one of the Christmas present I received, A 6yard African print fabric from @gloriaolars mum.

Thanks to her kind heart.

Am happy to showcase this and still grateful to have you around to review my outfit. Thank you

Hi @monica-ene

This result is simply spectacular, I'm in love with the fabric, it looks so tender, so cheerful and at the same time elegant and very distinguished. I can see that this corset has a lot of work.

Thanks for sharing, I loved it.

Thank dear.. I was just watching one of your three speak cleaning videos.

I really like how you work with so much ease and leisure compared to the serious scrubbing and hand washing we do here.

I can't imagine how hard it is without running water!

Do you think we might be able to fundraise for a well to be drilled? I know a while back someone was doing that for another Hiver in Venezuela, but at the time the price of Hive was really low so it was hard to hit the goal. I don't know if they ever made it or not.

Oh, that's kind of them..
The situation in different continent and country differs, maybe that's why the cleaning is dependent on our environment.

Will like to share you some pictures of my immediate environment so you will see how we clean and why its hard to stay in clean homes.

Our houses are not cemented or covered with wood like yours and we got dust flying everywhere ( most time I catch an infection and fall sick, but antibiotics help me get better).

We all have to live by our means and

Am very much impressed by your spotless abode and will feel safer and healthier in a home like that.

Enjoy dearie.

For sure, I am lucky to live in such a nice apartment. I wish for you a healthy home as well! I would love to see more pictures.

That's one of the things I love about the internet, is we can all see how it is around the world.

My favorite cleaning videos on Youtube are actually from some people in Korea and Japan, I think because they have homes more like mine. Most of the US videos are coming from people with GIANT houses and sooooooooo many cleaning tools and chemicals, which even though I am in the US is very different from me. I can tell who of my friends is middle class or above because we react differently to such things (because in the US I'm considered lower class). One time I made a comment on facebook about a cleaning video I had just watched where the lady had THREE vacuums - a Roomba (the robot vacuum), a cordless one where you charge a battery so it doesn't need to be plugged in while you work, and a regular corded one like I have. I was saying, why do you need three??!

Some of my friends laughed, and some of them said that THEY had three, because the Roomba doesn't work well on carpet so you still need to use a regular vacuum on it. And I was like, okay, but that's still two, not three... 😂

Thanks for the wishes.

😂😂😂

Excessive need I perceive.

Its good to have it all for comfort and ease of work as everyone dim fit for themselves,

Am amazed to know that people live in classes.

Regardless we must all live in love and unity regardless of the categories we belong. Be contented and live a happy life.

Yes, and thank you. Your perspective helps me to remember how lucky I am and I'm feeling very grateful right now. Like even here some people don't have safe homes or running water, but generally we take these things for granted, and I'm feeling lucky as hell. The next time I don't want to clean because I feel like it's too much work, I will remember that I am so lucky! <3

THe corset is amazing and fits you like a glove. Its perfect for your lovely figure and the fabric 😍😍 I am tad envious :-D I am just sitting on the second “crazy” dress for the exhibition and somehow the top of the dress is making strange folds at the armpits 😱
But back to your blouse, I love the contrast between the tailored bust area and the flared part also the combination between lace and the wax fabric is stunning.

Oh, thanks for the comment.

I hope to see your dress and wish your success with it.
I know that you are smart enough to figure out what to do about the fold.

Looks good. I work with corset bodices all the time at the bridal shop--all those seams! And when I do alterations, I have to take the boning out of many of those seams, then reinsert it after I sew the revised seams. Lots of work, but the corset construction is so flattering to any figure. !BBH
