Avoiding plague, some plant disease and huge losses growing farm crops// My nephews Holiday at the farm.
Hello Hive

A happy new month to us all, it is such a blessing to witness the 8month of the year and we are grateful to God for health and strength. Living a daily life and being able to do all of our work is by his Help, without the gift of good health and strength we would be limited and only God knows what our conditions will be. Daily daily we are making progress with growing different types of crops in our farms.

And guess who followed us to the farm yesterday, my nephew here. Since it was holiday season and the children are not going to school, he kept insisting that he will follow us to farm. Even when He couldn't do a thing he was so excited, He kept observing everything we were doing and even when I bend down to check on the groundnuts to see what was wrong with them He also mimic me thinking that I was playing with the leaves

This year I am so happy that we have escaped the plagues that destroyed a lot of other people's groundnuts last year.

You can see how that the groundnuts
Are they growing fast and healthy.
Last year we had a challenge regarding growing groundnuts. The plant was attacked by some plague that first started with the yellowing of leaves before other symptoms followed and the plants later died off.

To avoid such plague this year we had sought for some much better seeds different from what was planted and got affected by plague.
The luck we had last year was that we didn't plant the whole out groundnut in thesame location, so when one section of the plants got back we had some other nuts in a completely different location that weren't affected. To avoid the plague we had equally planted some new seeds that hasn't gotten diseases or faced any form of challenge before

Now the twist to the challenge now is that a farmer friend of our is now faced with similar challenge we have had last year. The symptoms are already visible on the groundnuts, the yellowing of leaves that starts first before the crops is rendered unable to produce anything.

While we completely avoided planting the remnants of the seeds that was planted and got diseased, He was of the opinion that it wasn't the groundnuts seeds that were at fault but the soil in which they were planted. He had gone ahead to plant that seed and this is the consequences

After spending so much to cultivate. the land, apply herbicides and now these seeds everything, nothing is going well with the planted crops.
The plants have stunted growth and the leaves are getting yellow already, there can be no further growth from here and all the much effort put into this crops is wasted already.
Most times it is better to avoid some types of seeds and the be observant of the land we plant our crops, it's saves us some time, expenses and wasted efforts. First I keep saying that avoiding seeds is better but if after after avoiding certain seeds, a similar challenge repeats itself, then one can assume that the land has an issue as well

It is not just enough to plant crops and expect harvest, one has to store up some experiences and body of knowledge in order to make the right decisions for next planting sessions to avoid losses and maximize profit.
