Komodo Dragon close ups

I never thought I would be able to see a Komodo Dragon up close like this, until my local zoo brought a couple of them in.

I spent quite a while observing trying to get a feel for how they move and what they do. When they started to emerge and get a little closer I knew this was my opportunity to get some good close ups.

Seeing this one swim was a treat, its head would poke out of the water as it paddled along.

The details in the eyes and the scales are something I could spend all day admiring. All in al I think I spent about an hour watching them and it was time well spent.
