Los miedos/ The fears
Who has not felt fear more than once? Very few will say Me!, because as my father used to say, "fear is free and everyone can grab as much as they like." Fear is a negative emotion that robs us of a lot of energy and prevents many achievements in each person's life. Fear can be nothing more than a passing fear or take root in an individual in the form of a phobia, leading to irrational behavior. This emotion has physiological repercussions, such as sweating, asthma attacks, arrhythmias, lack of control of the digestive system, paralyzing the person, preventing them from speaking and even (in extreme cases) causing death by heart attack.
Each person has their own fears, perhaps phobias are the most demonstrative of this. I myself developed a terrible phobia of snakes, because in my early childhood I saw a nest of snakes when picking up a stone (perhaps they were just little worms) and consequently, a plastic snake scared me, I never studied snakes in biology. I overcame the phobia at university, reading Anaconda (by Horacio Quiroga), an animated version of these animals, and a lot of mental work.
A great friend of mine had a strong phobia of butterflies, she would scream like crazy if she passed one near her. Through hypnosis they found the origin, in her mother's house there were many butterflies, the porch was filled with them, attracted by the light and there the girl slept her naps, perhaps one landed on her mosquito net, leaving that inexplicable fear of those beautiful insects.
Now, there are fears caused by real threats to physical, emotional and/or mental integrity, such as an armed robbery, an accident that puts a loved one in danger of death, but there are others that are constructed by the affected person, who truly suffers from the rigors of fear, such as the fear of being attacked in a street, of the dark, of storms, of the noise generated in a neighboring residence.
Fear can also invade dreams, generating true night terrors and wet beds. It is advisable to be very patient with children. And for both children and adults, avoid conversations about passages that can trigger fear. Likewise, the films should be light and according to the ages of the children. And we will all sleep more peacefully. The fears unleashed by episodes of violence end when the episode ends, but it is necessary to guide those affected to avoid traumas that will affect future behaviors. The fear created in the affected person's mind should be studied and worked on so that it goes away, because it can become chronic, triggering frequently.
A situational fear, closely linked to the here and now, is what produces uncertainty about the future; because to the extent that it is more difficult to visualize the immediate future, anxiety touches all projects and insecurity awakens fear.
To do? Inform yourself to the right extent and avoid misinformation produced by some sources. Plan with the Plan B and Plan C tactic.
REMEMBER THAT THE FUTURE IS UNPREDICTABLE, therefore we must be willing to see changes in our projects. HAVE FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY, the latter applied to oneself and to others, when we see a person despair due to the situational intensity.
