This article from Lucien Lecarme has very good point.

Right now, the developed world is getting interested in Crypto but the reality is that almost no one is using it. People in Europe and the USA are only buying Crypto to try and sell it later, for a higher amount of $ or €.

The Asians are trying to use Bitcoin as a currency and the Africans and the South Americans are the ones who are using Bitcoin the most.
 

These are the people that really need Crypto because most of them have no bank account or possibility to open one. With Bitcoin, they can download an app to their phone and have their own bank account in their pockets.

The currencies in those countries keep tanking and Bitcoin is maintaining the value a lot better than currencies in countries like Kenya, Nigeria, Argentina, Costa Rica and Venezuela.

The question is: what would it take for the mainstream Western consumers to hop over to decentralized systems? My best guess: When it's safe, secure and improves daily life. We don’t need 22 but 220 million users of bitcoin to change its volatile character.

Europeans and North Americans need to start using Bitcoin as a currency for the space to evolve. As long as we are using Bitcoin to try to get more $ and € in our bank accounts, we are acting as enemies of Bitcoin.

We need to join forces and push for the acceptance of Bitcoin as a means of payment everywhere, from big shops like McDonalds to the street markets.

That is the only way to end the rollercoaster markets where things go up 3000% in a year and lose it all in a single week.

 Our FIAT currencies are backed up by mountains of debt and they will explode soon or later.

We need Bitcoin to become more stable to be adopted everywhere in the world. Only after that, we can fix our screwed up economies.
