Original vs Covers #5- Bésame Mucho

Ready for some music in the performance of the composer and interpretations of other musicians? And not just some other ordinary musicians but .... I will not say more, come and read and you will see!

It is Saturday! Not the day I normally publish my Original vs Covers post, but I had another post yesterday, that I wanted to be published on Friday. It was a #FungiFriday post, in the community Fungi lovers. I rarely find mushrooms in my area, but when I see them it is fun, joy and happiness at the same time! So while I was having fun with mushroom posts and at the same time with a bunch of music posts too, in my head was rolling the idea of original vs covers post. Who will be my guest in this post?

During the last week, I have seen some great music posts by newbies, or those semi-new ones who came back to the blockchain after a long break. I am the newbie for them hehe. Some of them are so friendly and kind, but still, I need some time to get a better connection with them and feel the vibe.

Why do we need it? Why do we need to get connected, to have interaction, and share our time, thoughts and impressions about music or anything else with others? Why it is so essential for HIVE? Many why-s but one is certain, dropping just a post and not connecting with others but waiting to get comments and rewards is not the way it works here. Or I am wrong?

That was the reason for my choice today, to bring people with whom I already had contact, with some more, with some less, but they are all engaging. Did you notice I said people? Are we talking in plural? Surprise! All the covers today will be done by #hive users!!! All they made a cover of the same song, Bésame mucho, originally composed by Consuelo Velásquez. Get prepared and enjoy:

ORIGINAL SONG: Bésame Mucho by Consuelo Velásquez | live recording 1990

Consuelo Velázquez was a Mexican songwriter who wrote this song in 1932. She wrote this song even though she had never been kissed yet at the time, as maybe, the act of kissing was something she wanted to experience so much. Or was she afraid of that? What is for sure is that the song became so popular that it is the most covered Spanish song of all times.

For the first time, it was recorded by Emilio Tuero, but later it was covered by famous musicians like Nat "King" Cole, Pedro Infante, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles... from classical singers: Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, and one of my favourites is the cover of Diana Krall.

Here, I will bring a recording of Consuelo playing the piano and singing, from 1990! Wow, just listen to how she plays that instrument, oh wow!!! At the age of 74! I would like to be able to press any key on the piano at that age :D Not so usual interpretation, for sure!

Ylich played this song for the occasion of one hive open mic entry, and he explained about the song that it was written by Consuelo when she was 17. He also said :

Today I bring back this beautiful song, but in my voice and accompanied by the cuatro, the way one usually sings it at intimate evenings or parties.

Thank you, it was indeed a very nice and intimate way of singing and playing, with emotions and nostalgic feeling.

Salvador is a young violinist who brings music content to hive in solo versions but also with his friends. He said that he recorded this video in a tourist place in the Nirgua Municipality. He did not want to miss this opportunity to record something with this beautiful view. When he recorded it was already sunset so we can enjoy his violin playing in that atmosphere.

Maria is a singer from Venezuela, and her husband and daughter are great too. She had some problems with her voice, she was a soprano before, but due to illness she lately sings in the lower vocal range. Same beautifully, of course! She is engaging and a lovely person, always encouraging me too! Thank you Maria for being so kind and hope slowly your voice will be fully recovered, as already started to heal!
In this video, the guitar player is her husband @danieldedosd2 . A lovely couple and lovely interpretation 💕

COVER 4 by @gulia.peito

I have to admit that I have never seen him before playing the electric guitar. I always listen to his background music tracks he uploads to Music community and the videos of his girlfriend Tatyana, so it was a nice surprise to see him playing.

He said:

Bésame mucho — One of my favorite songs. Calm and at the same time sensual. When I hear this song I associate it with some Cuban bar on the ocean.

Enrique sings so well with this cool music accompaniment. This interpretation deserves to be here, although I have to be sincere and say that I haven't talked a lot him. However, with his wife is another story. She is a kind and great singer and she already has been my guest. So @dianakyv, many greetings to your husband and hugs to you and your cute daughter!
